Need some advice on joing a gym!

I'll be 18 soon and I was thinking of joining Leisureworld in Churchfield, I heard its a small gym. But I'm not too pushed about the size of it as long as its a decent gym. Would it be worth joining or should I go elsewhere? I'm looking for somewhere around that area and with a decent pool. Any ideas would be great.
