    Hiya guys,

Im sure this topic has come up many times, but im just hoping I can pester the good folks here for some info in regards to a personal trainer course which I have taken interest in. The course is run by Maltings training. Their website. (http://www.maltingstraining.ie/index.php?page=home-page)
I wont lie, the link was the first one which popped up when I Googled. I am currently based in Galway, and would like to persue, in terms of study, something which I actually find interesting and would enjoy doing. I would be really thankful for any feedback on this course, or indeed any similar course based in the Galway region. Thanks in advance

Odd that when I google Personal Trainer Course Galway that site doesn't appear..... so are you connected to the company? ;)

Odd that when I wrote this thread I was hoping for some useful advice…..not a sarcastic Git. :pac: :pac:only messing

Anyhow, the reason I mentioned this site is because it appears a bit dodge, ie it has no definite start dates for courses, so by mentioning them I knew that if someone had bad experience with them they would definitely slag them.

To be honest my work will be moving to partime, and its flexibility would allow me to do some form of part time course, and it would be great if I could do something which I find interesting

Hmm, I'd also be interested to hear of any such courses.

In some of the gyms I've been in Galway, I wonder how the frank some of the PTs got the job. There's bound to be a few courses, surely.

Portbello college are running an ISSA course in GMIT in october - alternatively you could just do the online version, no difference really

re maltings training. i am starting a course with them for level 1 fitness instructor shortly. there is nothing dodge about the company. anytime i have contacted them re the course they have been very helpful. i know one or two people who have completed similar courses with them and have no complaints.

I emailed them , and received no reply, could you pop up a few details like location and the date it starts.

I was hoping that nuig would be running the ITEC programme, but it seems like its not on the cards this year:(

    contact details are:
    057-8621216 or info@maltingstraining.ie
They are based in portlaoise. Anytime i have emailed i have got a reply so pop them an email if you are not getting through on the phone.

The Level 1 (Certificate in Exercise Health & Fitness) course is starting on 16th Oct 2009 in Maldron Hotel (used to be Quality Hotel) in Oranmore, Galway. not sure if it is full or if there is a closing date that you have to apply before. the course was due to start on the 2nd but had to be put back to the 16th so they could fill the last few places.

Hope this is of some help.
