need to lose a stone

    I need to lose a stone in weight. would walking 2 miles before eating in morning achieve this? how logn would it take ,any other tips appreciated

    Will need a bit more info about yourself to be honest, if you want to get better feedback. Info like your current weigh.......height.......current diet.....current exercise (if any).....etc.

    You might eat an extra 2 slices of white bread after your walk and your back to square one.

    I dont know if whether you eat or not before you walk will have any influence on your weight loss. It might just make you feel weak and less inclined to do it, or to eat more when you finish.

    What you might find shocking is how few calories a moderate walk will burn anyway. :) Youd be much better to tackle your diet first, and do exercise as well as a boost, rather than focusing on one walk per day to do it all.

    The best advise for now is to read the stickies here and in the nutrition and diet forum. Then come back with your questions and throw up your stats too like weight,age and height and know what your calorie allowance is(you can work it out in the stickies).

    Expand more calories than you consume = weight loss

    OK thanks. someone posted about 40 mins butdid not say of what and post is gone? was it a joke, if so ok if not what?

    it was me and it was serious - sort of.

    The op's question was so short it deserved a short answer.

    walking on empty is favoured by body builders and they know lots about losing fat.

    2 miles = 40 mins or less if you walk fast.
    do 45 mins min.

    a statement such as " any tips" should always get a glib answer - dont wear tstips with hoops and the like. - who ever deleted my post has no sense of humour.
