Mon 11/01 - 1 hour spinning class. Hardest part was actually getting there, what with all the ice!

Hey RubyK - you're putting in fantastic mileage and massive effort.

With past few weeks - I've barely managed to do the winter league - when its not postponed due to weather....
I had have thought about the Dungarvan 10 miler but I've something on that weekend - I'm kinda glad to be missing it in a way, as I'm doing no running at all.
I kinda expected most other people to be similar - especially with all the ice, snow and freezing conditions (laziness being a major factor also :)) - and then I go and see your log!!!
Spinning, longs runs on the beach, long runs on the road all in freezing conditions  - putting everyone to shame. Maybe you might shame me into doing something.

Hopefully the winter league will proceed this week.

Keep up the huge effort and good luck in the Dungarvan 10.

Ah, thanks very much for your post RunHomerRun :o Don't worry, there'll be plenty more races for you to enter up in, I'm trying my best to be able for Dungarvan, but having some doubts!

Back to the winter league tonight, not looking foward to Matties Hill (twice), after an absence of 4 weeks.

Wed 13/01 - 6.75 miles. First time out on the roads since before Christmas. The beach has spoiled me, I forgot how tough some of those hills are

Hey RubyK, 6.75 miles last night, the 4 miles tonight will be comfortable jog for you now....

I've done nothing since BaldyMan - legs will be aching tonight I think....:)

Nothing wrong with recharging the batteries RHR ;) You'll be grand and fresh for tonights run.

At least conditions should be good enough. Calm and just a little foggy.

Recharging the batteries is being generous - laziness is the truth. :)

    4 miles tonight - yeeeaaaaaa.....can't wait

Thurs 14/1 - 4 miles Winter League. I think I was a minute slower than last time. God that lap of the track is the worst part :o

Likewise RubyK, likewise approx 50 seconds slower than before Christmas - mad the damage the break can do...!!!!!
I don't know if I'll ever get that 50 seconds back....peaked too soon methinks...:)

Yea - lap is tough, all of a sudden running on the soft surface, in comparison with the road, feels like sand and legs get heavy etc...
But I actually hate the last part just before you get to the track....at least on the track - the end is in sight, so although legs heavy, one final push, one final sprint, then you turn that last bend, see the clock - do the mental arithmetic and while pushing on to the line - maths finally click in, in the brain - and realise - "aaaahh f*ck - I'm slower than last week!"

RubyK - at least you're doing a lot more runs besides just Thursday night - keep it up.

I've a busy January - so will hopefully start getting a few more runs in then....- maybe

Sat 16/01 - 9 miles. Lovely afternoon, there was a touch of spring in the air. A mixed run, felt good, then not so good, then good again :o The normally quiet country roads were exceptionally busy, so I spent a good big of time stopping and starting, jumping in and out of ditches. New kayanos are the business, though they don't look so new anymore, after my four legged friend at mile 5 jumped on me!

I had thought the route I took was 10, so I'll have to add on a bit extra next Saturday, to get to that mark, before Dungarvan in two weeks time.
