I recently got myself an olympic weights set from Irishlifting and I am having serious trouble getting the safety clips/collars on and off the barbell. Any advice? Usually in the gym they come on and off easy enough. Its also worse on one side of the barbell...

just squeeze the clips together hard and move them along the bar.

Trust me man, I am squeezing them hard like all the way together, lol, like I said, I have no problem with the ones in the gym. Is it because they are new?

yeah some spring collars can be problematic... altho maybe because they are new they are tight... one of the gyms i used had these and found them well handy:
