should all muscles feel like your legs do on a leg day? my chest is never real sore after a workout but i do lift as much as i can basically.

    chest workout is
    dumbell flat press 1x12: 1x10: 1x10
    incline dumbell press 3x10-
incline flys: 3x10(down 4 seconds and then hold for 4 seconds)

also did 2 sets of dips(managed 7 and then 4 using much more momentum :(:D )

Personally I lift heavy enough that I fail on about 6-8 reps. Targeted muscles feel pretty sore the next day if I flex them.

I'm only getting back into lifting at the moment, but I remember when I used to lift about 4 times a week and I found it very hard to get that same feeling, and of course my gains also plateaued.

after a while you should be able to know what the best way for you to workout is

then you make a plan, and follow it, then you know you will progress

I dont judge it by how i feel afterwards, progress is a much better measurement

You wont have sore muscles the next day unless you're repping to fail. From the looks of it you're setting yourself a goal, i.e. 12/10 reps which is still a good work out depending on what you're training for.

If it's mass you're looking for then the soreness is important.

th thing im looking for is sarcoplasmic hypertrophy which to you and me means sweet f all :D

i go high because i read this will result in size gains. i take a 65 second break between sets and then 2 minutes between exercixe

i used to set goals of 4x8 on about 70% 1max rep

now ive upped the weight to about 85% 1mp

i do 2x12 which is normally my fail, i really have to grind out the last two or three every set

+1 You judge your wokouts by the progress you make....more reps, heavier weight etc...

My upper body muscles would never be as bad as my legs after squatting. I don't get leg DOMs after deadlifts though, squats can have me with DOMs for 4 days. Only way to get 2-3 days of upperbody DOMs is doing very heavy negatives.

Why have a legs or chest day?

Its old school bodybuilding which works for very few people. There are better methods working off movements not muscle groups.

Dbell flat chest and incline dbell are very similar - so much so that you are just doing 6 sets of horizontal push

flys and dips there too !

personally I hit chest with one maybe 2 exercises but hit an upper / lower split alternating maybe 4 days per week - sometime smore sometimes less

what do you do for back?

do you do any rotator cuff? scaption?
