Any advice on how to make this thing work appreciated.

    No Error Message at all.

I think RTE.ie have CatchUP on their website I guess I need to see if there are any problems with that too.

TV3's videos don't aways work. What are you trying to look at? Then we might be able to let you know if we are having the same problem.

I often wondered about a lot of TV3s' Catch-Up Service Programming.
Coronation St. & Emerdale are repeated next day & there's an omnibus for both on Saturday and Sunday.
X-Tractor is on both Saturday & repeated on Sunday mid-morning/afternoon.
The Championship is broadcast Friday Evenings & repeated Saturday Mornings.
    X-Pose is on at 6-6.30 & then rebroadcast next day @ 12.50.
Most of the stuff they have like Elephant Man are repeats of what was on other channels like ITV, Channel 4, Sky One & in Elephant Mans' case, I have seen that at least once on TV3 before its' most recent outing.
So its' schedule is basically repeats of repeats & then next-day showings of what was on previous day.
As to why you'd go looking for Ireland-AM, Martin Kings' 10-11 Show & Midday/Loose Wimin, don't get me started. A carbon copy of ITVs' morning schedule.
Sometimes I think TV3 should be renamed ITV with Irish Variations.
    & if you would

RTE have a rubbishy selection of programs available online though.

Coronation Street, Xfactor, Emmerdale, Ireland AM, TV3 News, Tonight with Vincent Browne, The Morning Show, Xpose, Midday and a small number of TV3 documentry not the highest quality of television available on their catch up service and not that much TBH.

The don't even have a proper link to the Catch up page on their website, I always start searching for it and can never find it. And I don't mean a big purple link that just gives you a selection of shows available, I would like just one page that gives you links to all of there video content. Just seems a bit all over the place to me.

But then you where looking to watch Coro St, you may have had the same problem with TV3 as I did, the sound repeating with the video continuing to play?

I am a Video On Demand Catch Up Newbie here I was never interested until I deleted the second half of a really interesting tv programme from More4 in UK on my SkyBox Plus Planner and they will not be repeating it.

I have yet to get www.tv3.ie CatchUp to work do TV3 get any of the TV license Money? or is it only those seriously overpaid people at the State Broadcaster RTE that do?
And RTE run advertisements too :) unlike the Uk's License fee funded BBC
    no adverts.

by any chance do you have an ad blocker installed?

Seems to be stopping it working in Opera. RTE don't care about me blocking their ads :P

correction works in firefox for me just not opera (TV3 player). It is ridiculously slow to load the page but streaming seems fine.

Sorry to disappoint you now john but

    1. TV3 got 3million from the licence fee for their indepenent productions such as Modern Ireland, in fairness those funds when directly to the Indo Producer and not TV3 but TV3 did benifit from the licence fee indirectly.
    2. The BBC is a huge company, not only does it receive nearly 3billion in licence fee, it also owns through its BBC Worldwide arm 50% of UKTV (aka Dave, GOLD, Watch, Alibi, Good Food etc), provides channels oversees such as BBC America, BBC Canada, BBC Prime, BBC World etc which all carry advertising, they have DVD sales, magizines such as Lonely Planet and Radio Times and more cross-ventures with other big media conlonglormerates. Oh and Channel 4 is a public service broadcaster owned directly by the British Government while they do not get the licence fee S4C (the Welsh Channel) is in receipt of exchequre funding, I am sure C4 also has some exchequre funding in its early years.
    3. Seriously over pay shareholders in a commerical company such as TV3 who earn 62million in advertising last year and has push loads of money away from Ireland and into ITV, Canwest and Doherty Hanson.

I use ADP Adblock Plus and NoScript I have disabled both TV3 still not
    playing

Correction is that an Addblocker never heard of it.

I have had the same problem for the last two days - I watch the catch up as there are no adds so not wasting time watching 10 mins of adds every half hour!
A white circle appears in the centre of the flash player then thats it - anyone else have this problem over the last two days - dying to watch the apprentice!

My missus missed the apprentice last week. I told her to try the tv3 website to watch it. Sure enough there it was available to watch. With a huge banner above it proclaiming "SETANTA FIRED !". I mean FFS. Why the hell give away the ending right above a repeat of the show that possibly, just possibly, people might not have seen and go to the website to watch.

    TV3=idiots.

If fairness they are trying to get you to sit down to watch the ads, since TV3 have the exclusive on Monday nights at 9pm.

I don't get your point. I don't think fans of the show say on a monday night "oh I won't watch the show tonight because I hate those pesky adverts. I'll wait till later and watch it on the internet." OH DARN They gave away the results at the top of the page.

Or maybe (sad) people do. :(

To view the TV3 videos I have to first click on the video image to get the black box then I reload the page. Then when I click the video image, the player appears. A bit of a pain, but it works in FF.
