Buckwheat

I just bought buckwheat in the supermarket today, thinking I could make pancakes with it or something, but now I realise most recipes call for buckwheat flour and I have whole buckwheat. So now I am a bit of a loss as to what I can do with it!

Just add it to things maybe? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, how much better for you is buckwheat flour than wheat flour? It seems to have more fibre alright.

    Thanks!

You could throw it into a blender and blitz it into flour...might be a bit lumpier than usual flour but you could still make pancakes out of it.

No idea od the benefits of using it over other types of flour though, sorry...

Never used buckwheat but as suggested: Blitz it in the blender, then maybe leave it to soak and blend again after soaking. That should give the same effect as flour (i.e. a liquid after mixing).
