I am currently a DIT student on a part-time basis, going into 3rd year. I am also working full-time but am looking at loosing my job in the next 4 to 6 weeks because of there being no work anymore. Does anyone have any idea of whether it is allowed to be on the dole while attending these night classes? I would be able to show payslips of me working full time while attending the course. Don't want to have to drop out and loose everything up to now because of not being able to get a job.
Anyone in a similar situation and how did they get on?
    Thanks

If you want to claim social welfare while on a part-time course it's fine. Part-time doesn't have the same rules affecting it as a full time one.

Also, if you're unemployed for 9 months you can get a grant to help you pay your fee's
