People of Denmark voted twice in a referendum on EU Treaty, second time they got guarantees like we did

I dont see anyone saying anything bad about them

its such a terrible thing aint it being "allowed" to vote

No the vote is a beautiful thing, but when you have to vote on the same issue twice, then you have major problems with your Democracy.

you are not voting on the same thing

    you are voting on

    ta da

    Lisbon Treaty + Guarantees

The guarantees were made to address concerns of the people about things that were in the Treaty (Commissioner) and things that had nothing to do with Lisbon (abortion) and reinforce yet again things like respect for Irish Neutrality

Thats quite democratic and thanks to our Constitution and certain fella called Crotty we are given opportunity to vote again

do we have an understanding now :)

btw we vote on same issues every few years, its called a general election

i have a question for you

    how do you define democracy?

    Ok, Democracy -
People have given their lives for Ireland so we could have freedom, freedom to make our own laws and govern our own country. This is democracy.

Not Democracy - taking this Freedom away from us by not allowing us to vote No to any referendum.

You are free to vote no. Do you want to deny me the freedom to vote yes?
