Bright Orange Light passing over Galway?

Hi guys, We were walking home from town at 9.15ish tonight and noticed a very bright orange light (size of a big star) travelling East to West. Nope.

Venus can be very visible during the winter months (or any other time of the year for that matter), but it doesn't always have to be. Right now for instance it's almost aligned with the Sun and isn't visible at all.

On the day in question Venus was in the morning sky, so it can't have been what quotaj saw.
