Farewell Watty

My previous post seems to have bit the dust - admittedly it was a little opaque - but I think most of the regulars on here would acknowledge the trojan work done by Watty as moderator and wish him well whatever he gets up to.

And the current lot aren't that bad either.

Indeed, Watty has been a fantastic addition to this wee community and to the mod team, and will be sorely missed.

Sadly, he is no longer with us (on the forum, he's still alive in RL)

I was going to start a post mentioining this, while also welcoming new mods to the team - bk and Bond-007 (that'll be for another thread, this one is for watty).

Sorry-I didnt know Watty was going, but I too wish him well for the future.
Watty has been of great help to me in the past and for that I would like to thank him.

I agree his experience is needed but it seems he had some issues with the admins from reading other threads so it's unlikely he will return I reckon.

So sorry to see Watty go - I found his posts very helpful and easy to understand. He also stood out as being patient and tolerant of inexperience and lack of knowledge - I saw him post many civil replies to the repeated questions that stretch the patience of many other 'experts'. He will be missed.

I just read the feedback thread on the reasons why Watty left. He has a great point about there being "no clear resolution mechanism for serious differences of opinion" in moderating decisions.

Anyway, he was/is extremely knowledgeable and had a very level head when it came to moderating.
