Well you might be dissapointed if you see them live this november as they will no doubt be promoting the new album.

only 4 songs off whatever people say i am, that's disappointing if it's true. i hope ur not just judging the set list at the reading and leeds festival alone, bands do tend to have different set lists for festivals compared to regular concerts.

I have been looking forward to see them since malahide in 07, they were so brillant. one of the best gigs i ever went to. humbug deserves more respect than it is getting at the moment, a smooth and mature sounding record. Crying Lightning is gonna be great live! i hope their set list is different from reading/leeds, where they didn't play Mardy Bum:mad:

    Nothing seems to be happening.

I saw these guys in NYC twice about a month ago. Once was as part of a big festival, which to be honest wasnt great. Two days later I saw them in a small club venue, and it was fantastic. Really one of the best gigs i've ever been to. Maybe i could have done with a couple more songs from the 1st/2nd albums, but it was still great. The 3rd album had only just leaked, so i didnt really know the songs.

Anyway, i'd imagine this will be a great gig.

Has the support been announced yet?

the setlist looks poor to be fair. they are one of my favourite bands but to only play 3 songs of the first album. thats ridiculous

Anyone know what time this will actually start at? I'd like to go if I can make it after work.

no mardy bum is a joke. they got booed in Reading in August for not playing enuf 1st/2nd album material

im not mad about the new album, a half good album, i think they sold out so they would have a more american sound and so to speak break the american market. cornerstone is their best song yet i have to admit though

Humbug, an american sound?? Cannot hear that for the life of me to be honest. Its just different from the 2nd, like the 2nd was different from the 1st.

I think its a great album, if people want to hear more songs like the 1st album, go listen to the 1st album. Theyre maturing, they cant be singing about girls texting or drinking in bars forever.

I love humbug, think it has some of their greatest songs, Cornerstone, Pretty visitors, Secret door.
    I can't wait for it!!

I thought Humbug was no good at first, but that was just because it's different, now i love it especially Dangerous Animals :)
Cannot wait to see them in november
Anybody know who the supporting act is?

this album is a total disappointment... :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 485 ✭✭blackbetty69

they are savge tho is fairness... cannot wait! :)

only thing im worried about is if they dont play some of their good songs.. ne1 see them on gonzo a couple months ago? i can defo remembr alex sayin they wudnt consider teddy picker on their set, he mentioned a few more but cant remembr.. they were pretty good songs too! hopefully they werent serious:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,658 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

People here seem to complain bout them not playing their better(maybe more popular) songs? Dunno bout some, but that always better for me. Hearing a band play random album tracks is always much more fun. They'll play some hits, and many more random ones.

Also, I advise not to miss the support. Eagles of Death Metal always put on a good show, if not great one. Personally would go to this mainly for them(not dissing on AM). And if you have any fears about the name, no, they are nowhere near death metal(as many of my friends who seem to think when they hear the name). Fun rock n' roll, can't imagine a more perfect warm up for these guys.

Eagles of death metal supporting Arctic Monkeys?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,658 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Ah yeah, suer EoDM are still only a small enough band. Especially in comparison to Arctic Monkeys.

This is the only album they've actually given a sh!t about, you seen them giving interviews after the first couple albums going 'it's easy, it's boring and too easy'. The change in direction is hardly popular but i seems like they've put alot of effort in.

That set list looks pretty good to me!

You're not from New York City, you're from Rotherham :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 683 ✭✭✭Gingy

Gig was pretty savage. Glad they snuck in Mardy Bum in the middle of Fluorescent Adolescent.

I knew beforehand that they weren't going to, but; Certain Romance, Old Yellow Bricks, Teddy Picker and Fake Tales of San Francisco would have made it amazing!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 64 ✭✭FeistyOneYouAre

To add to that list of missing songs, from the ritz and balaclava would have been nice. But i have to say it was a serious gig. Sound in the o2 is unreal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 780 ✭✭✭Blackpitts

Here it is the intro (with dance little liar)

and here it is the best song from Humbug, pretty visitors
