Trappatoni translation?

    This would be a crackind idea for a banner at the home game versus Italy.Is there anybody out there with the detective skills who could be able to get an accurate translation? Just saw the Irish fans on SSN chanting 'oooohhh trappatoni, he used be italian but he's irish now'. So why not take it one step further :)

    Any idea what the surname means (I can't find any online) - i'm pretty sure there's no direct translation, so you could translate the meaning of the name...

    Well Giovanni is the equivaent of John so that's an easy one. No luck with Trapattoni though :(

    I'll have a crack at it. Treapátóní Just mess around with the spelling, add a few fádas and we've got the answer(For my low stands anyway!).
    Shouldn't the translator women teach tell him how to respond as gaeilge?
