Greatest recession buster ever. Tucking in right now to a feed for 60c.

But I always eat beans with toast. A dish of beans and a steaming side plate of toast and butter. I don't like beans on toast cos the toast goes soggy. So what d'ye think boardsies? Beans on toast v Beans with toast. You decide. Btw a fcuk off mug of scald comes free with both options before we get any Zimbabwean voterigging.:)

    Beans on toast = win.

I do like a side of fried egg though but that's going to get in to fry up territory.

Yep. You're right mate. Slippery slope. Grand for a thread but I think we all know that "The Fry-up" is forum material, way too diverse to be encompassed in one body of work.

Beans on toast wins hands down!
A little bit of brown sauce spread over the beans.
    Outstanding

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,382 ✭✭✭petes

Bollocks. I'm hungry now and at work where I can't get anything to eat until lunchtime!!

Drinking the night before always gives me a mad appetite. Beans on toast would go down a treat!!

Add some cheese to melt on top of the beans and you have a winner

Best thing to do is have the beans and the toast on seperate plates, then transfer as required.

    Nothing gets soggy.

I'll have a go at it. It just doesn't sound to appetising. Saying that I don't like washing up so it's a good option!

And I won't be trying spaghetti shapes cold, I did that before. Ugh!!!!!!

"Texas Strawberries" on toast, a meal fit for a king. :D

My Mother would only let me have them on rare occasions (c.1950) as she always declared that food out of tins was no good for you. Being a typical brat I craved them like nothing else, and to this day have them regularly.

    Just luv 'em,....

People who work for a living have no need to "burn it off", plus they are very high in fibre and great for your general health. Any food in sufficient quantities will make one fat without getting off your duff and living a bit.

    forget the toast.

get jambon's and put beans on top.

Well actually the average serving has around 57g of carbs, of which 20g is sugar, so if you get the reduced sugar and have them with whole wheat toast it isn't the worst thing you could have. They area also a pulse, which are rich in protein, 13g per average serving.

However, my main reason for posting was to laugh at your post quoted above... Stick wth doing your 5kg bicep curls mate, the girls will love it

Spaghetti hoops on hot buttery toast FTW.

And yes it makes the toast soggy, that's the point! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,587 ✭✭✭Pace2008

I thought beans on toast was a staple of fat, neglected British kids (the ones on that irritating old Vauxhall ad spring to mind - you know, where they talk like adults), that they eat along with their bangers n' mash while reading the Beano. I didn't think it had found its way to Ireland, let alone to civilised society. You people disgust me.

    Beans are rank...
How anyone can stomach them is beyond me..
