cheapest deal to see RTE on Sky box

I just got a Sky Pace Satelite settop box from a friend who upgraded. I'm using this to replace my Lidl one (or possibly to receive alongside it once I figure out how - sat has 2 coax feeds).

It seems from reading the threads here that I need a sky card now in order to see RTE & TV3 via satelite.
My question - what is the cheapest way of doing this? - I really don't want any of the sky subscription channels as I'm perfectly happy with BBC/ITV/CH4&5/Film4 etc - just want the channels I currently get by aerial.

also, I did scroll through the EPG on the sky box but I didn't see any RTE/TV3 listings - my friend also lived in Dublin.

btw, I live in Dublin and one of my reasons is that apparently I need a new aerial if I want to receive TG4 (terestrial) - I'd prefer if I could do a one off payment and get the lot via satelite.

think the cheapest sub for sky is €20 ish per month, that is the ONLY way of getting rte via satellite.

your existing aerial (presume you have one) will pick up the rte digital trials

but you will need a separate box for that.

have a look at the Terrestrial board for more info,

you can get a box to decode both but as has been said umpteen times before the service is still in testing mode.

Ignore the equipment you have you dont have any warranty on it. If you want to suscribe to Sky set up your own account apply for a new Sky or sky+ install either at your local installer shop or ring sky. you need mininum package to receive Irish tv around €21 a month direct debit.
Or else contact your local aerial rigger about your Irish terrestrials and use either your lidl box or sky box for your english channels
