Anyone else notice over the last couple evenings that Northwood is absolutely jammed after 530pm ?

Yesterday evening there was at least 10 cars looking for spaces when I was leaving !!

Have they too many members ? Is it something to do with the schools being back ??

Anyone know, if I knew this would happen I wouldn't have joined a couple months back,

Northwood is mental around lunchtime, and especially from about 5-9pm. Just one of the drawbacks to it. Excellent in early morning or late night though, or some afternoons.

this happens at peak times in a lot of places, I guess they have to over subscribe to some extent and just hope all members dont arrive at once!!

thats the reason i didnt rejoin.

Many a time i have drove up and not one space inside or around the gym.

Simple answer - cheap fees, over subscribed,

I'm considering getting hold of a scooter for access to my gym.

Is anyone really surprised that it's oversubscribed?

Its only one of the many reason's why I transfered my membership of NorthWood and returned to TotalFitness.

Hi. What other reasons do u have Makikomi for leaving northwood for total fitness??Im thinking of joining northwood as its super cheap. Im only looking to prob go once a wk/twice max at the w/e or off peak times... and maybe to some of the classes. Is it really packed all the time or is it ok off peak.... Cheers for any info!

Guys you have to understand that the business model of these places is to over subscribe.

    +1

most gyms ive been in can hold at very most 100 people (taking into acocunt cardio + weights + mats) - if you take the average membership fee that would bring in 80 - 90K per anum for the gym?? that probably wouldnt even pay the cleaners for a year.. bottom line is that they HAVE TO oversubscribe and it can be difficult to find the right balance ...

Maybe Im wrong here but i think when westwood opened you could only go at a certain time ? Maybe im wrong

I dont really mind if its oversubscribed, if im able to go at w/e's or maybe one day a week at off peak times :-)...I wont be using the gym a huge amount so thats why Im interested in Northwood as it so cheap. Does anyone know if the classes are jammers or would i be able to get in to them??Cheers
