...to lose a stone between now and xmas by following an exercise/nutrition program from the local gym? The gym i'm joining do free personalized programs to those who want them, so i'm thinking this is the only way i'll lose weight, as trying to do it my own way has always failed. I'm not obese or anything (14 and a half stone and 5'11) so i could obviously do with losing a stone at least. Have exams the end of this week but have decided that i'll be doing nothing for the winter so may as well try get in better shape at least.

So is it possible? Obviously it would be very hard to follow a set plan religiously, but surely its achievable with the right motivation from the trainer at the gym?

Absolutely achievable. We've a member who we're very proud of who's lost a savage amount of weight by getting strict with his diet and consistent with his training.

He wrote a piece for our newsletter that I'd be happy to send on to you if you'd like? Might help with motivation.

4 months is an absolute TON of time to do it. With some dedication and a good knowledgable trainer, you could drop 2 stone.

Yeah, easily done as long as you stick to it.
A pound a week is not that difficult to shift consistantly, some weeks will be more. 16 weeks to christmas, i'd aim for a stone and a half.

just as a matter of interest could you post the nutritional programme they give you as I would be interested to see what your gym instructor says. That and as diet will be the main method by which you lose weight probably best that you get it right so I would suggest reading the stickies at the top of the page as there is a ton of information there that can help

However as said before a stone before christmas is easily achievable so good luck
