TV arrived safe and sound lunchtime today. Easy set up - 20 min. from opening box to watching Irish analogue and ditgital and UK digital, no STB.

Yes spotted that alright, whats the price like for the 42" and 47" have a Samsung LE46B750 reserved when stock returns at start of november for just under €1300 but could be swayed

The 42PFL9664 is €1799.99 however with your Boardies 10% Philips Shop discount you can get it for just €1619.99 and the nice people in Philips Ireland also give you a 5 year warranty on the '9' series at that price.

The 47PFL9664 (which has just received yet ANOTHER amazing 5 star review in the Awards issue of What Hi-Fi Sounds & Vision) is €1999.99 but again with your Philips Shop 10% Boardies discount that takes it down to just €1799.99 - and again that includes a 5 year warranty.

no worries thanks for the reply John.
Quality discounts there and a much better warranty than the others offer. I'd be going for the bigger screen I reckon. Unfortunately thats still over €500 more than I'm paying for the 46" so its prob out of my price range, the 47pfl8404 is prob closer but doesnt have 200hz as gimmicky as it might be

My Philips 32pfl9613d and blu ray arrived yesterday and I got them set up last night. I have to say, the TV is amazing and I'm really happy with it. It was a fantasic deal.

Just regarding the 5 year warranty on the tv, there was nothing included with the recipt or box indicating its covered for 5 years, should there have been?

Has anybody managed to get their sky plus box to be controlled by the Philips TV remote, it has a function to control STBs and DVDs, but I've tried all the Sky, SKy Digital and Pace options but none seem to work. There is an option to enter a manual code, by holding down the STB button and OK for 4 seconds, but I haven't managed to get it working.

Any ideas?

No I dont believe it will control the Sky+ box I'm afraid.

I found myself here search for a Philips 42 9664.
Been reading some reviews on av forums where richer sounds has a great name. I decide to see what the best price i could get on the 42 9664 with 5 years warrenty and delivery to essex.

Few companys offering some ok deal's but would hoping richer sounds could do me a deal !
