I was wondering if anyone has tried a dating agency. I only just heard about it now over lunch from a friend who tired it. Apparently it became painful after awhile.

    I like that idea.
But I thinking setting out looking for someone who you can have a relationship with, is always going to painful. :(
You just have to put up with the nonsense until you hit paydirt.

Dating agencies though are kinda different nowadays to the clichéd "lonely hearts club" set-ups of pre-internet days.
People strike up romantic relationships via the internet in all sorts of contexts (e.g. here) so I think that's helping to alleviate the stigma, as well as making things more casual and less forced.
