I'm guessing you mean the E90 cause the older E46 was a fine looking car.

The top 3 have to be:

Fiat Multipla, SsangYong Rodius an the Pontiac Aztec.

You'd have to wonder were these intentionally designed to be ugly cars ... there is no way a professional automotive designer could think these cars are anything but ugly.


With regards to confab nominating the E90 3 Series as a top3 Ugly car- get a grip :rolleyes:

The E90 is a great design for a saloon car - clean lines and has a distinguished purposeful presence.

If your gauging its design based on the majority of poverty spec ones with 16' alloys you see in Ireland - you're judging it unfairly IMO.

Came across a silver E90 earlier today - 330i M-Sport Saloon (obviously not in Ireland) - Fantastic looking machine!

Meh. Horses for courses. I thought the E46 was lovely, but the E90 looks like they took a hammer to an E46, then said 'Wait, wait, it's not ugly enough.' Just because it has a BMW badge doesn't mean it's automatically goodlooking.

Could be. I saw a '09 630i the other day... I nearly cacked myself. Poverty spec on a sports coupe. Now I've seen it all.

BMW had the chance for a facelift about 2 years ago when they brought out the 4 door M3.

The 4 door M3 is basically an E90 with the front of an E92 bolted on. It looks vastly better than the E90.

I wouldn't call the E90 ugly, but aint desirable either.

I suppose it all comes down to taste but I love the C6, Thesis and Vel Satis and would love to own any one of the three.

rodius for sure, the yaris verso and the tiida...even though there are a couple of other sangyongs that could get it. The acron and kyron could get it too. I always kinda liked the multipla though...grabbing my coat now...

It is rumoured that Frank Stephenson - the guy who designed the new MINI and original BMW X5 had a hand in it. Although Ford still to this very day won't release the name of the person who designed it.:D

Ive never understood the goodwill car forums project on these 2 cars. Yeah, both underdogs, both well spec'ed and probably nice to sit in, but the fact remains they are not nice looking and the fact that despite the goodwill, no one has actually bought them supports this is purely rooting for the little guy mentality. The slashed ass on the Vel Satis (and slightly big retarded cousin to other Renault overall look) and the lame "design feature" sloped rear window and bland front on the C6 rank them both as fairly ghastly cars IMO.

Someone (hopefully not on here) offered me cash + Vel Satis (2litre lol) for my Phaeton, I respectfully declined, when I told friends and family they just fell around laughing. They all knew the Vel Satis (didnt have quite the undiscovered gem appeal I thought it might have) as the worst looking current Renault they knew of. Infact they despised it on looks alone, and you know what, thats why books have covers!

I have very high standards thank you very much!!!

But i think that one i posted there is definitely better looking that the blue one above. We all thought the one in Hawaii was a class looking car. The bugeye with the right body kit is waaay nicer than any of the models that came after it!

Most of those cars are inoffensive and I think the Passat can look rather elegant. I just hate the Superb with a passion. I think the back is a bigger monstrosity than the E65 7 Series, which at least had proportion.
