Lower Back - Muscle and nerves damaged i think

Was just wondering if anyone could help me and give me some advice on maybe some exercises i could do to help repair my back.

I was in the gym about 8 weeks ago and did damage to my lower back while doing deadlifts. I havent been to the gym since then and have been trying to take it easy yet still i am having pains in my leg and back.

The pain mainly occurs when i stand up and sit down and runs from my lower back down through most of my left leg. It is generally the worst in the morning when i wake up and as the day goes on the pain lessens slightly.

I am due to go away in 3 weeks so if anyone could give me some tips on anything i could do to help repair the damage done i would really appreciate the help.

I doubt you'll get any medical advice on here - just out of curosity, how do you know it's nerve / muscle damage? I assume you've been to a physio, what did they recommend?

I would go to your GP as soon as possible and ask for an MRI of your lumbar spine, given your left leg symptoms and to rule out any disc damage. if you have private medical it will speed up the process of getting the MRI.

    Good Luck
