Sprinting - Fast Starts

    Hi Guys,

    I have been getting back in shape over the last few months and things are going great, fitness is getting back to old levels. I have mainly been doing longish distance runs 5-15km and i am enjoying it.

    What i would like to work on though is getting back my sprint speed and working on my start (ie for playing sports), i have lost a good bit of my explosiveness.

    I am wondering what is the best way of training i have heard alot of things and would like to start out right.

    Would doing sprints up hills help? Doing Weights (aimed at legs)?


    Thanks in advance and also for all of the help i have gotten with my training/diet so far from reading previous threads.

    For pure sprinting might be better to head over to the Athletics/Running/Triathlon forum.

    For explosiveness for sports, look into olympic lifting. Getting stronger will always help as well.
