Hello all,
Have gotten into a (bad?) habit of having a smoothie after a workout. It consists of two scoops of HB Vanilla icecream, a handfull of Tesco frozon strawberries, a banana, a handfull of seedless green grapes, and a cup of Lidl apple juice (not the stuff made from concentrate - the one with the apple stuff floating at the bottom). Pop it into a blender, and oh man it tastes good.

In saying that, I'm thinking of maybe replacing it with something a tad bit healthier, and seeing a few people talk of "shakes", was wondering what would be a good post workout shake that would go well with icecubes? Would probably go for strawberry flavour.

if this is immediately after your workout I wouldn't be to worried (the again depending on your goals and stats it may not be so you might as well let us know what they are). They only problem I would have is the lack of protein as suggest in it.

Myself I am trying to lean out a bit at the moment yet will have a full packet of jaffa cakes (or sour worms) after a workout but will have a much stricter diet most of the rest of the week so post workout I wouldn't be to worried about being overly healthy as long as the rest of the week you are making up for it. Also having crap post workout can stop you having craving the rest of the time when you body wouldn't be as capable of using the cal in it
;61783170]Dont know about anyone else but id swap the ice cream scoops with natural yoghurt.
Or even frozen yoghurt.

I'd often have a fruity smoothie avec protein supplement or have a penutbutter smoothie.

It's surprising how hard it is to get this stuff :(

if it actually is a post workout drink I don't see the need to sub in the "healthier" options as I can't really see it making that much of a difference unless you are leaning or cutting out but at that point with the amount of fruit and other calories in the shake I would suggest leaving that sort of shake out in the first place unless you are happy eating big after a workout

Pour the natural yougurt into icecube tray and freeze it. take a few cubes out before workout, as they are very tough on blender blades when u use them straight from frezzer.

I'd recommend adding protein powder to the mix, replace the ice cream with natural yogurt or I actually pref milk with oats to thicken it

my smoothie go something like this (although I mostly have it in the morning)

protein & glutamine
fruits (2 of the following blueberries, strawberry, raspberry, apple, banana, pear)
linseed
oats
milk

If i'm hungry add a table spoon of natural peanut butter
