every year myself and my friends put a few celebs' names into a hat and bet e20 each, with the person who draws the one to die first getting the moneys. let's do it here, with the winner gaining the princely sum of one million internets.

there are a number of good candidates at the minute.

I think by christmas we'll be lampooning the loss of kerry cantona and shitney spears through suicide. there's also patrick swayze, who is inexplicably hanging on despite a horrendous dose of the big C. barack obama is a rank outsider for me due to the potential for assassination.

what do you guys reckon, and why?

No, he was an actor. But he's already dead. He probably got a mention in the Simpson because one of the writers was a fan.

I always vote for this thread in the Celebrity Deathpot but I always lose because every year I think it's dead and then low and behold once a year it comes back to life to haunt us again!

Gosh darn it - will I ever win at this game?

kerry admitted herself she in last weeks paper she will prob be dead before 30 so that should slash your odds

Spears- no, not while shes having such a good comeback

And swayze- you shouldnt have people in there already dying thats cheating

    Keith Richards /The Queen

The Queen has super-glued the crown to her head and is on a strict diet of unicorn's blood and Songs of Praise.

    She will never die.

As for me, I'll say... Angela Lansbury. She's like, a million, right?

i'd normally agree wih you, however whatever seems to be sustaining him presents us with an unseen variable, so i'm allowing it. plus, it could be argued that we've all been dying since birth, since life has a 100% mortality rate.

Kirk Douglas doesn't look like he has long left. Maggie Thatcher also looking very frail at the moment.

so if he was cleared of all cancer you would still chip in for him next year would you? You could argue he was closer to it than anyone else potted in:D

well, given the stats on the recurrence rate of pancreatic cancer, and the data i've seen in some of my own experiments, yes, absolutely.
