Well....boys like toys. What are your favourites?

Me: I bought a projector a few years ago. It's totally bollixed now, but it was a great buy. Watching high def stuff on it just blew me away. They're actually cheaper than you'd think. I bought a replacement high def projector this week for 600 delivered.

    Other things that I like:
PSP - It's cracked / hacked. I never use it for games, but for 3 years solid I've used it to watch recorded TV shows on the train. 8 hours battery life when watching video. Absolutely legendary piece of kit.

Swiss army knife. I've got one of these bad boys. Big enough but I use it absolutely _every_ day.

    I love old things...

This is my latest purchase from one of the markets in Notting Hill. I've loads of cameras at this stage though (Over 30 at my last count), the oldest is nearing a century old (And I nearly bought a wooden victorian camera over the weekend...), and everything up to brand spanking new DSLRs. When I was moving over to London, I had three bags. Two of them were cameras, the other my clothes :o

I like my shaving toys too. And books. I've got a small library back in Ireland. Oh, and my Macbook Pro - I'd be lost without it.

Edit; Oh, I almost forgot - coffee, and various ways of making it. Also, here's a some more of the photographic family

    Sony Surround sound system

My guitars, especially my Fender Strat, and my Marshall 100DFX amp.

Unfortunatly all the above are back in Ireland :(

My Macbook pro, constantly use it, although seriously thinking of investing in a netbook just for the weight of it.

My mobile, tend to change it every six months, don't actually use it much for calls but constantly use the MP3 player & web browser and now I've got sky sports on it, sure who actually needs the phone side of things.

My leatherman supertool, great piece of kit, until some knob in work decieded to steal it, still haven't replaced it.

Completely off topic, but I'm on a weeks holidays and can't sleep so here I up and about to hit the gym at 6:15, WTF:eek::eek::eek:

I've got pretty much everything - a wii, and xbox 360, psp, ds, mac, laptop, two internet radios, Archos 604, ipod, ipod touch - I've no kids as you can probably tell :D

However, god forbid and all, but if there was a fire in my house and I lost everything, I would the order I would replace them in is:

    1. Internet Radio (roberts WM202) - I could live without a telly no problem, but not without my radio

    2. Mac - Need net connection and the mac trumps the lappy

    3. Xbox

The rest I'd get around to, but those three would be must-replaces.

must say, I do love my watch, but wouldn't have to replace it as I'd be wearing it :)

Pics people, lash up some pics :)

here's my custom made blue jade labret piece (goes in my lip) Dimensions are 9mm tall X 16mm wide. The white mottling is actually translucent pure jade. Only 1 other piece like this in the world and the owner is the guy who made mine.

    yc1b39y9re4vizp036.jpg

Here's what I'm currently wearing though, it's a solid piece of amber. So light and just love the little red streaks through it. Very subtle.

So yeah these are a few of my favourite things :)

My current favourite toy is my Garmin 60csx.

It's a handheld GPS unit... great for exploring and I've been having lots of fun finding geochaches.

I've also developed a keen interest in cartography now as a result.

My son's new walking Lego AT-AT. Took me about 6 hours to build.

    http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=10178&cn=416&d=322

I'd love to have a go at the Millenium Falcon but at €660, it's just too much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,399 ✭✭✭✭r3nu4l

    In no particular order

    MacBook Pro
PS3 (still mostly play COD4 online)
Audi A3 2.0L Sport Quattro *vroom, vroom*

Are books 'toys'? Because I'd happily trade most things to keep my books :)

As a kid, Lego was my favourite toy but even back then it was expensive!!

i have printed out that page and left it lying around. Hopefully Mrs MM will get the message in time for christmas.

I also loved lego as a kid. Wasn't as cool as it is now, but used to knock such craic out of it. even now, when there are kids to be played with and kept happy, once there's lego I'm straight in there. pushing them out of the way, and taking all the good bricks to build supermassivemega fortresses

for miserable days at the allotment
You have an allotment? And you are miserable in it! Been on waiting lists for 5 years and still no allotment. Fuppin Dublin City Council!

Anyway, fave toys are golf clubs. Dosen't matter whos, standard, quality, age, whatever. Just as long as they are righthanded I love 'em. I'm a terrible player but, as they say, golf is the best game in the world to be bad at.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

days when the weather is miserable, i'm never miserable there, even when the weather is. Mud is fun, once you can make tea in the shed.

without going too far OT, shed days are fcuking awesome. I have a nice comfy officey type chair. between that, a mug of tea and a few sambos, i tell ya it's heaven. then you come home and make dinner with what you've grown. anyways i digress.

That lego one looks awesome :-) I managed to rescue most of my tecnic stuff from my parents attic...... loved building cars with working suspension, gearboxes, differentials etc. and it was before they started all these special parts that can only be used for one thing!

    Other toys are:

The Arcam Solo mini hi-fi especially when combined with the devilsound DAC to play FLAC's from the laptop / PC

The HD Media player for watching vids

    for reading the bookeen cybook

And finally my EOS 30D for photography :)

I spend far too much on 'toys' :D

    Coffee:
    Rancilio Silvia espresso machine
    Iberital MC2 grinder
    Behmor coffee roaster

    Shaving:
Dovo Special 6/8 straight razor, only new and a beauty!
Gillette Fatboy safety razor, a vintage classic.
(The above are just two of a vast and ever growing shaving den).

    Electronics:
N95 8GB, I'd be lost without this. The wifi/internet and GPS are a lifesaver.
Dell M1730 laptop, this is my main rig and meant I could loose the desktop.
Samsung NC10 notebook, well I can't lug the M1730 too much and this gives me the portability and long battery.
Xbox 360 and far too many games.
Zune 80gb mp3 player, am just waiting for the new Zune HD to get released.

    Flashlights:
    (Don't ask!)
Maglite upgraded with LED dropin from Malkoff devices, this is blinding (literally!)
Nitecore D10, perfect EDC LED light.

Next purchases: Apart from the new Zune HD I'm holding out for the next gen of mini LED projectors. Nearly bought this last week.
Am also waiting for the new Turtle Beach X41 headphones for the 360.

I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff (and usually pay a premium as an 'early adopter' :()have just about every kind of gadget/toy I was even remotely interested in... consoles (don't think I've missed a console since the 8-bit nintendo days), tellies, high def projector + 120" screen, canon 400d plus good lenses, laptops, sat navs, mp3 players, sound systems, phones, earphones) but by far my favourite toy is....... the iphone.

My PC. Have almost a TB of movies on it as well as a TB of games and TV shows. It is my prized possession. My girlfriend has just moved in with me and has started using it so if you hear of woman being thrown from a balcony in South Dublin over the next few weeks I'm sure you'll all understand my motives! :p

My Decks- Have a pair of 1210s and play them as often as I can. Have been tempted to go digital a few times but would miss them too much.
