This has probably been discussed a million times before, but I'm hosting an Ann Summers Party on Friday night, so I am wondering, whats the craic here. Do i put out some crisps and nuts, or go for some hot grub like pizzas and whatever. I'm expecting maybe 10 or 15 people. Also, will people know that you bring yuor own booze or do I have to lay this on too?? Help.

Have you told people to bring their own booze? Most people will anyway, but then there's always the odd scabby one who doesn't! Even after telling people, I'd get a couple of bottles of wine in just in case :)

Nibbles would be fine, I reckon. Doubt anyone is expecting to be fed.

i wouldnt really put on to much of a spread, maybe a small amount of alcohol?people but me more likely to but stuff if theyve been drinking, maybe thats just me:(

No, I haven't really specified that you must bring your own booze, I just assumed they would. I will buy in a few bottles of wine and maybe some alcopops, possibly a bottle of vodka and softdrinks. Just whenever i head to houseparties I would bring my own booze. I see what you mean about getting them drunk and they'll buy more stuff = more discount for me, but its not really about that. Its a recession like so i thought this would be a good girlie 'cheap' idea. There's no pressure to buy but I'd say most people would buy a fiver thingie just to make it worth the lady's while.

But will buying all that not eat into your profits or are you just doin it for fun....?

I would tell em bring their own booze and give em some nuts/crisps. THe more p1$$ed they are the more they will buy and more commission for you! ;)

I'm not the girl who does all the do-dahs, its just in my house. And most of the replies i got from those that are coming is that - well I'll go but I'm not buying anything. Like fart you're not, awit til u get a few brinks and see the rabbit and u'll be bloody buying the whole catologue. But no, I'm just providing the room is all. So nuts and crisps then. I can manage that.

    rabbit

They were gonna call it the "man replacer 4000" but they decided that was a bit blunt.

Get plenty of wine in - loosens the inhibitions and everyone will have a right laugh!

    Hi,

I used to been an AS rep, used to love it. Just have nut/crisips and dips and maybe bung a pizza in the oven. I think that all customers are required to pay on the night now, and TBH that was one of the main reasons why I left because not everyone has the money to pay on the night, and I know this sounds bad but I hated walking into a party with 20 girls and 6 buying, sometimes didn't even cover my costs. OP have a great night, the parties are usually great craic. xxx

OP you need to warn your friends, Ann Summers doesn't sell things for €5, something cheap like a thong would be closer to €15 and rampant rabbits cost €60-80.

I'd be really embarassed to have the rep come to my house and basically entertain us for the whole evening and get very few orders in return. I personally wouldn't accept an invite to one of these parties if I couldn't afford to buy something.

If I was coming to your party I'd bring a cake, and some alcohol. I think you should ask people to bring a few nibbles, just simple things like pringles, chocolate, popcorn. It's nice if there's plenty of food.

I think the etiquette for food at an Ann Summers party is to lay out a selection of various dips (hummus, salsa and the like) and let the ladies dip dildos in them and like the sauce off seductively. Best of luck with it and let me know how it goes!

I've done parties where 5 people showed up, I did the party, got orders and processed them only to be told that everyone cancelled their orders. :mad:I used to love it, but it was incidents like that that made me leave. xx

Thanks for that Angeldance. I think I'll just have the usual so. Dont mind buying the wine.
As far as the will they buy - will they not, i have little to no control over that. I've long given up trying to control people.

I do feel a bit sorry for the rep if she doesnt cover her expenses, but as far as I know, isnt there a raffle or something at the start - from which she can take the proceeds to cover costs. Also, she is only coming form a few miles away so it shouldnt cost her too much in petrol...

And you can get 'sexy dice' for under a fiver, defo - or maybe a tenner. jez I cant remember, those where the days, throwing fivers round me like i was made of money!!!

Yeah, there's a raffle depends on the rep whether its a good one or not. I know what you mean about not being able to control what people spend, some hostess used to feel bad if the rep didn't get alot of orders and TBH I always felt sorry for the hostess when this happened as it's a night to be enjoyed and not to be worrying about what the guests are spending. And the hostess has no control over it.

Although I will add, the amount of people that used to say 'Oh I'm only gonna get something small' well that used to go out the window when the rabbit was pulled out. Thats when the credit cards used to get pulled out haha. Have a great night. xx
