    Hi There

Around €1000. Go 6 times a week for about 2 - 2.5 hours a time. Longer on weekends as I use Sauna, Jacuzzi & Steam room.

Works out about €20 per week and there is lots of classes, though I only attend Spin. Don't think I would have the discipline to work out at home for that amount of time.

    Best Regards,

    M

No WW Clontarf. Was €99 joining fee and €75 per month

As I said it works out about €19.20 per week. If I was to just go public Swimming 4 times a week it would cost this much. For the same money I get the gym, 2 pools (25m & 50m), Choice of classes, Jacuzzi, Sauna & Steam room plus access to trainers who you can ask questions from.

The gym is reasonably well equipped with free weights, 4 squatting stations, lots of assorted benches etc, so you hardly ever have to wait around for what you are looking for. Cardio equipment is repaired fairly quickly if it breaks. Changing rooms and showers are clean.

Plus it is on my way home which is convienient. If I had to go home and then go out to a Gym I could easily find excuses to cry off.

So all in all although it seems pricey compared to some of the other posts here, I actually think that it's not bad value for money. And if it helps keep me away from my GP and Hospital....

1 trip to a GP for 5 minutes equals 3 months gym subscription :)

    Best Regards,

    M

How much does everyone pay for supplements, either monthly and/or annually?

I'm interested to know how it compares to gym membership fees.

    Interesting Q Dan.

I'd say I spent sweet FA on supplements. Fish Oil is €25 for a bottle of Carlsons, lasts about 2-3 months depending on how much I swig. Think Magnesium is another tenner, again lasts the same.

Gym €79 per month, i've been training alot lately and will be keeping it up.

Supplements: Nothing at the moment but i'm about to start a multivit.

    Pay for a gym!
Your all off your heads. All that beautiful countryside out there and you want to go to a gym. Get out there and run while listening to the birds insted of headphones. You can do step-ups, press-ups, sit-ups, anything using what's round you.

Even if you live in a city there are parks and riverside walks that are, surprise, surprise, FREE!!

Gyms are for people who want to show off to others or like to eye up the bodies of others, particularly those of their own sex .

Get out there and enjoy getting fit. Get a life

    :):):)

Just because you don't agree with gyms Renseignemnet there's absolutely no need to put down those who do. So quit the trolling BS please.

    You're right g'em.

Somebody gave me a bid wooden spoon with 'The world's greatest stirrer' on it for my birthday and I can't help using it to build up my arm stregnth instead of going to the gym.

€183 for 13 months in Northwood when I signed up with 2 others, and from being a member of Westwood for 5 years, apart from the 50m pool everything else is on par or greater in Northwood

although I do believe the above is a load of cock put in to try and get a rise out of people some of renseignements underlying message is correct. There are a lot of people out there who go to the gym that would be better off by doing out door activities or joining clubs as it helps keep the motivation high

I do not consider multi-vitamins or fish oil supplements but rather what should be part of normal nutrition even for those that do not train.

Even protein powders and MRPs are marginally supplements, as they can all but replace food.

I consider supplements to be things that do not work that are often exepsnive, like most of what is sold by Bio-Test and the like: creatine, noxplode, herbal fat burners, etc.

€250 for the year (gym and pool). That's a student rate in the university gym though.
