Back wheel making clinking noises!

So I bought a bike a few months back and have had nothing but problems with the back wheel. I have been back to the shop 3 times with broken spokes. I have never had any issues with broken spokes in all the bikes I have had over the years. I have come to the conclusion that the back wheel is just dodgy.

I only cycle from home to work on the roads, I avoid pot holes etc and dont jump on or off any kerbs.

It was in for a service two weeks ago, I cycled home and another spoke fell off. I brought it back a few days later and got it fixed. Now there is a tension clinky noise coming from the back wheel. I just know another spoke is going to go any day now. The bike is only six months old, should I ask for a replacement back wheel or just live with it?

If its as bad as you describe, a bike and its subsequent parts that new will still be under warranty, bring it back to the shop and instead of having it continuously repaired demand either a new wheel or and its not that dramatic to insist, a new bike.

Out of curiosity what make/model as the bike?

Make is a pile of ****3. Got a present from my girlfriend of it, Claude Butler hybrid, can remember the exact model at the moment. I have read some review on it and basically said stay away :(

Fair enough but a sound present from the missus none the less, strongly suggest you use the warranty rather than continuously spend money on further repairs.

A quality wheel can and is worth repairing as with most things, however even if you had a new pair of Fulcrum's fitted I'd still get a new one under the warranty as that sounds like far too much trouble for such a new product.

So I got home and now there is a small buckle of the back wheel. Again no potholes or kerbs were entered or jumped off. The brake is rubbing, dont want to go back to the shop cause, 1. They are grumpy feckers to deal with and 2. I dont want to give them the business if they do charge me for it.

Anyone know a decent friendly bicycle mechanic on the Northside (Kilbarrack, Sutton, Raheny area)???

    Thanks
