defined chest

hi. I used to to a fair bit of weight a good while back, as soon as I stopped , I lost any size I had gained pretty qiuck...

Im now back at the gym, but this time I wanna just keep fit so I do interval training etc.

However, My chest isn't as defined as I would like..so Ive added a bit of chest work to my routine..

question is, should i do high reps of a lowish weight or vice versa?

First day back in years i hit the bench and did 3 sets of 70 kg (about 10-11 reps per set)

Next visit i did 3 sets of 60 kg )about 18 reps, then 16 and 15

considering I am not eating a huge amount, and am doing cardio, would it be correct to assume I'd be wasting my time benching say 75-80kg x 7-8 reps, and I would be more likely to see the results I want(definition, not bulk) by sticking to around 60-65kg and the 15-18 rep range?

    Thanks

    edit: my stats are:

    age 27
    weight 75kg
    bf% about 13%
    height 6'1
need to know anything else just ask

Really we'd need to know your complete program, diet, and stats (what you can lift in the squat/press/bench/etc)

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

as mentioned in my post, im only really doing cardio now, not looking to get back into weights...im happy enough with my body but not my chest and just want to get it a bit more defined. I figured theres no piont in lifting heavy as I wont be consuming enough calories to support growth. So just wondered if a lighter weiht with more reps would help, or would that be waisting my time..
    Thanks

well at the mo, my bf% is a little bit higher than i would like, im not on a diet or anything now, i just try to avoid junk food and eat about 2700 calories a day id say. Im doing about 3-4 cardio sessions a week too, so im hoping just to trim up a bit...but i would like to develop my chest a little bit at the same time..

not sure how you expect to get a defined chest if your not willing to lift any weights? Cardio is great and it will drop body fat but it wont matter if there isnt enough muscle underneath .. you wouldnt need to spend hous lifting but even 25 minutes a couple of times a week would be a good start?
