    Ahhh that would be telling....

Should'nt you be giving your own building and apartment if you want others to give theirs?

Whats the security like in the joint? I heard that since I was last on campus two years ago, the SS style security have been quite the bunch of gob****es and have cracked down on people staying over and parties

(come to think of it, it may be asking a bit much to get info here if you are moving IN to Glenomena. But sure ill ask anyway):pac:

Hey mc 1990, I'm actually a post grad student - I only found out I got in on Friday. If you have your student no. you may be able to find out your apt. Go to this link https://sisweb.ucd.ie/usis/twbkwbis.P_GenMenu?name=homepage, enter your student no, then your code is your date of birth in the format of DDMMYY.

Once logged in you will see two tabs at the top - go to 'information for students', then go to 'online accommodation menu' then 'apply for accommodation'. This is where I found my assigned room and apt etc..

Also we can move in from the 31st August onwards.

Do you have to stay 50 weeks to be assigned houses 9 & 10?
I wanted to be in the new ones!

Random question, but does anyone know what apartment/room numbers are for catered for the disabled... I'm on the ground floor and hoping I might get a room twice the size!

it was always room 1 on any apartment on the ground floor that catered for the disabled last year.

You stayed in Glenomena I take it?
Damn it! any chance they might move me?
My housemate had her phone stolen off the window sill when I lived in Belgrove back in first year!

    Catered in what way?

The bedroom and bathroom would just be a lot larger, I've never been in Glenomena but I would presume so.
I see you aren't so happy about a ground floor either!
    Think they would move us?!

I doubt that they'll let us. Getting off the ground floor is not a good reason to be moved.

Hope they have good curtains... don't want any pervs peeping in :P

Hmmm seems like I may have a bigger room and bathroom :D

I was in my apartment today. All the doors where open so just walked straight in. All the rooms where the same. None of them looked like the where adapted in any way for disabled people.

    Good rooms though! :D

You don't have to stay for 50 weeks but if you put that down that is where you will end up. You can always say you are staying for 50 weeks and just leave at the end of semester two. Plenty did that last year. Plus house 9 and 10 are newer...not totally new either. They are better in general alright but the other apartments have better sofas and showers less likely to flood!

The rooms that cater for the disabled are kind of random, it's hit and miss whether there will be one in your apartment.

    I'm in house 6.
    Anyone else?
I'm also set to be one of the only first years in Glenomena, yeah?

One quick question- is electricity not included in the extortionate amount of money you have to pay for this accom?
    D'oh!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,361 ✭✭✭bythewoods

    Im first year.

Elecyricity is included. Its on the accomodation part of your registration.

    Glenomena-Utilities 388.00

Sh*t just remembered we need to print off the licence to reside and hand it in when collecting our keys. Haven't printed it off yet :(

    What are they like?
3 rooms to each side and kitchen straight infront of you down the hall when you walk in? I'm curious to know if room 5 is right next to the kitchen!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭Kournikova

from what I remember 5 should be near the kitchen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 64 ✭✭JoeyH

No 3 and 4 are next to the kitchen. 1 and 6 are at the front door.

Yup all on my lonesome tonight. No one to drink with... and I have 1.5ltrs of vodka in my room....
