okay guys last year thanks to this forum i got from sweating whilst walking to almost a 5km jog over a period of 8 or so weeks... which i was delighted with, but then it went kaput after Christmas and with the pressures of work and so on. So im now at the stage where im sporadically going the gym 1 or 2 times a week and playing 5-a-side once a week. im back up to 14 stone and want to shed some of the weight.
ive start eating (about a week and half ago) the following:

breakfast bowl special k with walnut/pine nuts/ cashews sprinkled over the top (2 desert spoons)
soup or half a quiche for lunch or white bread sandwich (cheese or ham)
dinner usually chicken with potatoes and carrots or pasta with a cream sauce

2 or 3 cups of tea a day.

i dont eat sweets biscuits crisps or drink fizzy minerals at all and would drink a pint of water with my dinner.

Im also pretty bored in the gym to be honest and wouldn't mind taking up some form of martial art, but being a lover and not a fighter i would be a complete novice and would probably embarrass myself..

so what im looking for is a bit of advice...
    thanks

Fundamental things I'd change in your diet:

Special K is pure ****e IMO. Consider porridge or scrambled eggs and some wholegrain brown bread for breakfast instead. The general rule for breakfast is: If it comes in a box, it's probably rubbish. Or, have a look at the oat based pancakes thread. I have them most mornings.

Try to get rid of white things (bread, pasta, rice, spuds) and try to replace them with green things (i.e. veg / fruit).

I'd suggest making small changes, day by day, week by week. Drastic stuff rarely works.

The stickies are full of super stuff. When you've read them come back with any questions you have. :)

    Good luck!
