Just wondered if any of you follow Gary O'Briens tips from attheraces?

I think he's very reliable so to prove that (:p) I will post his tips here each day.

Will do as others have and start with €100 bank, and place bets based on his advised points stake, at SP prices.

Him and wayne are like chalk and cheese .

Wayne's will always be short priced odds , whereeas Gary has had some nice longshots recently , ............but I doubt that will hold .

Wayne's tips are always too short. I mean no offence but come on I don't need someone to tell me a 4/7 has a chance! Gary tries to give decent priced tips, gives plenty of winners and if he does stoop to a 5/4 or even money shot they almost always win!

I don't care what prices tipsters advise, so long as they turn a profit in the long term, and I don't see how anyone else would care, unless of course they wre looking for one outsider to make you.

I've been really busy lately and haven't had much chance to update this, I look at the tips most days though, and given the abandoned racing last week I don't think I've missed much in the summary below.

We're showing a profit of €2.06 so far!! In fairness though, most of the winning bets have returned at shorter SP's than advised (such as today, winner available at 8's earlier (thanks boccy!) and returned S/P 7/2), I've calculated all bets at SP as I don't have time to check early morning prices! I'm certain the tips would be showing at healthier profit if I had time to check all morning prices!

Not losing is a feat in itself at this stage!!

I've noticed Gary keeping the faith a good bit with horses!!

He has tipped Worldly Wise a number of times, this horse has been in the first three in his last 8 races, Gary must have tipped him at least four of those times, but did not tip him either time he won!!

I also think he must be really annoyed with Dulgodti Bob... he tipped him one Saturday last Feb where it finished well down the field, and came out four days later and won at 14/1! And he also tipped Dulgodti Bob on Easter Monday at Fairyhouse where he finished fourth but failed to tip him two days later when he appeared again and duly obliged at 8/1!!

Shame about todays non runners :mad:

Ruby Walsh is sure to be a popular choice with the punters again on day five of the Harvest Festival following his win on Northern Alliance in yesterday’s Kerry National, and the champion jockey has a great chance on Dani Califofnia for boss Willie Mullins in the featured Guinness Handicap Hurdle. Vital Plot, who was a big fancy for the Galway Hurdle only to miss the race, is an interesting opponent, as is impressive Ffos Las scorer Valain.
Green Mile missed the cut for yesterday’s feature, and is sure to command plenty of attention in his alternative engagement in this afternoon’s FBD Insurance Handicap. Consistent Le Leopard also makes plenty of appeal.
The Pier, winner of two of his last three starts, could go in again in the 1m4f handicap, while Augustusthestrong should be nigh on impossible to beat in the 1m maiden after a fine effort at Dundalk.

Not that it makes any difference but I was talking to Gary down in Listowel on Wednesday and he said he would have tipped up Dual Gales if he knew the track was drying out so quickly. Dual Gales as it happens ran a stinker.
