I got stung by a Wasp today .

Minding my own business when a wasp came from nowhere and landed on my finger and stung me .It hurts alot and that was 4hrs ago .
Beware as I think they are probably dying now due to the weather and they are more Kamikaze then normal . They just land on you , smile and then sting you for no reason:mad:

Have you been stung and suffered any reaction ?

I think this incident highlights the overall decline of morals in society.

never been stung in my life :)

i generally walk away from them, open windows and leave the room or if all else fails, battle to the death :p

the easiest solution is to close all windows and get a car with air conditioning - problem solved :pac:

Got stung by a wasp on my very first day at Junior Infants :o got stung by a bee a few years later in the exact same part of my hand that the wasp got me on.. Was stung by a bee when I was about 12, was out with my friend, she looked at me and went pale, the bee was still hanging out of my neck, took ages to get it off me, can still remember the pain :( bastard..

I was only about seven, minding my own business, out playing catch or something on a friend's lawn.

Then BAM! All of a sudden one little fecker comes and stings me behind my ear.

Like why there?! I even had long hair. The most awkward place ever for a sting. Oh God the pain of it. Well i cried for hours. :( Terrified of wasps since.

Been stung plenty by wasps when I was young. There was a big nest in the forest close by the house.

Also stung by a bumblebee once when I put my hand on it accidentally.

Stung by a jellyfish a couple of weeks ago when swimming in Kerry. Hurt like a motherfcuker. Got it across the back and shoulder. It was one of those huge, pink fellas.

It was a bit of a stretch but pee'd on it and it went away ;)

(Ha. It actually just went away by itself after 30mins or so)

Got stung on the elbow once by a wasp. Was standing there for a few seconds staring at it sticking out of my arm. Pulled it out and killed it. Revenge, fcuker!!

I used to do that when I was young . Then I got stung by a bee.
decided it was better to use a jar to catch as many as I could , put loads of holes in the lid and fill it up with water . I used to do that every day of my summer holidays . some call it genoside.I call it revenge

The first time was when I was 4 or 5. I sat on it. Had no idea what had happened. Ran into Mammy crying and screaming about my ass being sore. She hadn't a clue what was going on.

My dad got stung about 10 times last week. Was cutting bushes with a sickle, must have disturbed a hive. Lucky he didnt slice his hand off with the sickle while trying to get them away though.

Forgot to say, I was stung by a bee on the finger while in a phonecall once. The person on the other end found it very amusing

I stood on a hive when I was 3, was stung loads, like 100 times. One of my earliest memories was barely being able to see out of my eyes and the terrible pain of it.

    Been stung a few times. . .

Earliest time I remember was when I was around 5 or 6 and was Being dragged around by the mother while she was shopping in Dublin. I found this to be a very boring way to spend some of my summer holidays and as I was yawning to relieve my boredom. While doing so, a Bee flew into my mouth and stung the inside of my cheek! Managed to keep a brave face til I found my mam at the counter and spat the bee out onto the counter and than started into the hysterics! Poor girl behind the counter was mortified!

A year or two ago (whenever we had the decent summer!) I was asleep with the windows open in my room and woke up screaming as two wasps had stung me awake! First one stung me above my left collar bone and then as i reacted to him (the initial wake up sting) the second one stung me in the neck!

And this year while out on the bike I was just enjoying the ride around the curragh in the sunshine I decided to take off the jacket and gloves just to cool me down. . . 5 mins later i noticed in my wing mirror that 2 wasps had landed on my neck and just as I had noticed them they both stung me in unison! I ended up slamming on the brakes in the middle of the curragh golf course, throwing off my lid and letting out an unbelievable roar!!! Frightened the elderly golfers who were nearby!!! My neck had a lump the size of a golfball on it (was easy to get the reference at the time! lol) within minutes and i had to squeeze out the gunk before I got back on the bike. . .

And I thought getting a wasp/bee stuck with you in the car was dangerous!!!

You're supposed to pee on the sting, not the jellyfish, duh!

One flew out of big flower thing on Parnell street and landed on my hand, I didn't know what it was so i put my hand on it to pull it out and the b****ard stung me. I think that was the only time it ever happened to me, not as sore as I thought it would be.

I've been stung at total of 13 times, even once while sitting on the jacks, little bugger decided to die right on the ground at the toilet <possibly from the fumes> and I stood on him with my bare feet. The sting is even worse when they're dead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,580 ✭✭✭Splendour

Apparantly Bee venom gives great releif to sufferers of arthritis. Wouldn't recommend disturbing the nearest bee hive you see thoughI:D It's administered through injection.

My son got stung on the hand when he was about 4 and his hand practically doubled in size-turns out he has an allergy to bee stings... :(

When I was 5 I got stung in the neck by this huge bumble bee. Thus began my phobia of every insect that made a loud buzzing noise. :(

Many moons ago, as a shorts-wearing lad a wasp landed on my upper leg, crawled northward and stung me on the scrotum.

..and thats all I have to say about that </forrestgump>

Never been stung. I laugh at those mortals who literally run and scream when they see a wasp. I'm also fairly sure I'll never get my comeuppance for this attitude.

I am one of the mortals who runs and screams ( im a bloke )
today I didn't and have to suffer the consequences!!!

My advise is to run and scream and If a wasp comes towards you . Hide behind the person beside you .

I was stung when I was 10 or something. Cried and threw a tantrum for about half an hour and wouldn't let anyone enar me to pull the sting out. Eventually my finger started to swell like crazy,so one of my neighbours came out,got my friends to pin me down, dabbed some vinegar on it and pulled.
The swelling took a good few days to go down completely, though.

I was stung for the first time ever about 2 weeks ago by a bee. Flew in the car window and before I knew it he had stung me. Baxtard died then before I got to reap my revenge.
