I thought this might be an appropriate place to post, since I assume most people here are quite active.

I'm searching for an amazing sports bra. I don't really do anything high-impact, but I'm looking for something that prevents as much movement as possible.

    Anything that anyone swears by?

I use either the maximum support M&S sports bras (should be about €27) or a Berlei Shock Absorber level 4. The Berlei one makes you feel like your boobs are up around your chin at times, but it keeps the twins in place damn nicely on long runs :)

If a hot male wants to chase me around the phoenix park for 20 miles doing that for me, they're more than welcome. :pac:

I usually use the M&S one's but I'm looking into a change now. Shock absorber have one which has a fleecy lining around the band which is supposed to stop chaffing..but would surely get really smelly? As any woman who runs regularly will know, every bra bloody chafes.

I find 'triumph' bras being very comfy, but not sure if they do high impact ones. also I noticed that shock absorber bras sizing is on the smaller side, so I always buy one size larger. I buy on ebay, just enter 'sports bra' in the search field. sometimes unknown brand bra appears to be better than famous labels...

I picked up a 'shock absorber' brand bra for about €15 in TK Maxx, it's really good, and I'm a 32E so know good sports bras from bad, check out the truly hilarous 'bounceometer' :)

:D:D very good. I was hypnotized for minute or so after looking at those flying nipples...

And wearing a good sports bra is very important, otherwise...

    EEEK!!

Thanks for your replies ladies -- it's hard to to a kind of trial and error with these sometimes . . . they aren't always cheap!

I tend to like the sports bras that keep your breasts stable and separated, rather than the dreaded sports bra uniboob!

ok this is probably going to sound weird coming from a bloke who in truth has no real idea about what he is talking about.

However if you are going to be forking out good money on a sports bra I would probably recommend getting a proper bra fitting done to make sure you are wearing the right size bra in the first place, as studies have shown a lot of women misjudge what size they actually are and wearing an ill fitting sports bra may lead to it not working as well as it should.

*bloke hat back on* giggles at topic

+1 on proper fitting. My mrs swears by it. Only got one done for the first time on her last pregnancy.

I've found Shock Absorbers to be a bit boucey. I tried M&S after reading a few recommendations and I think they do brilliant sports bras- mine don't budge when I run. I would always go for M&S in the future now.

I have this: http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=BB-B4246 they used to sell them in pink too which was pretty cool it's very comfy and pretty good support I can run in it no problem and i'm a 34C/D.
I find if I buy a sports bra with a smaller band size and larger cup size it helps.

The only really annoying thing about the M&S ones is that there's quite a bit of monoboob going on. It's a small sacrifice though.

The only thing I've found that really works is 2 bras..I know it sounds ridiculous but I find it great. I use a shock absorber and a nike one over that. Not sure how to describe the nike one - they're about €20 in tk max, & come in sizes s-xl. Some fitness instructors in home dvds wear them over jogging pants. A supportive boob tube wi straps maybe?

I play alot of sports and I was searching for a really good sports bra for ages too. I didn't find any that come close to comparing with the ones from Change, it's unreal, no movement whatsoever. They've opened that new lingerie store on Eglington St here in Galway which is kinda handy... No more black eyes from running ladies! :-)
