    What methods are you using?
Using pegs to hold the corners as you try and get it in?
Are you using the inside out method?
The chuck all in and rummage around method?

Feck, I need to get out of this dress and get back into trousers! :D

Why would a quilt need a cover? Unless you mean a duvet?

Seems to me the OP is using the most advanced of all methods - The "change the duvet cover whilst posing on boards" approach.

    Always difficult

Inside out method is the best. Just grab 2 corners and roll it on voila

Ah come on its not that hard.....
Just push both corners into the bottom opening of the sheet and grab the corresponding cornets of the duvet and snap the duvet a few times Simples!!
Just think of the fresh sheeted goodness later when your going to bed...
Or just get someone to give you a hand.

I've tried the chuck it in and hope for the best and although i find this the quickest it seems to be a lucky dip at night whether your under 5 layers of duvet/quilt or just the sheet

My dog can't manage to fit a doovay cover either and we make him sleep in a nest of shredded paper. Maybe you should try that?

What we really need is a tv with built in fly spray. I fúcking hate it when flies keep walking around on my tv screen.

I favour the "don't have a duvet cover" approach. It's just as comfortable without one.
I also don't use pillow cases and don't have a sheet on my mattress

Or just zaps them when they land on it like those fluorescent purple things...

Get a dressmaker to fit velcro around 3 sides of the cover. Then open up, lay quilt on top and velcro up.

Define 'good'. If you're using it for watching DVDs and listening to music (while on Boards) it's never going to last that long.

Thankfully the simple OS revolution is just around the corner. 24hr batteries anyone?

My first idea has surely been invented already and is most likely fitted in them types of cars in which indicators are optional and which are allowed to use bus lanes (and I don't mean taxis). First idea is the heated steering wheel. What I wouldn't give for a heated steering wheel some mornings!!

Second idea made someone nearly wet themselves before. My ingenious invention would be the mobile fire. Easy to make, just fill your wheelbarrow with fuel of choice (petrol is a no no) and set alight. Heat with you everywhere. It's just like what the homeless guys have in America with their barrels and what-not but this goes with you everywhere!! Perfect for the on-foot commuter on those cold winter mornings. Metal umbrella comes as standard for those wetter (yet still cold) mornings to prevent your mobile fire from going out.
