    Hello all :D

I think we need to keep us science geeks away from the crowd since we're so much cooler than them and all. Keep this thread going throughout the entire year!

I'm doing Science Education (DC203). Got it by the skin of my teeth!

    Anyone joining me? :D

    does acturial maths count?
i regard maths as a science (well an art form really but lets not get into that at this stage in our relationship)

Consider yourself at least an honorary member.

Mathematics is, after all, the queen and servant of the sciences.

you can't spell honorary, without honor, the american spelling for honour.

I hope you like maths! Same goes for people doing Science Ed ;) You all have the pleasure of doing MS126... Mathematics for Physicists while all other Science people do MS125... the MUCH simpler Mathematics for Scientists...

One piece of advice for the maths.... NEVER divide by zero....

Simpler!? I'm ESH thanks, I had to endure that torture. Though advice for the new students, don't judge Angela Murphy. She may seem evil duringt lectures, but she's actually great. If she wasn't, I wouldn't have passed my first year repeats back then...

    Welcome to the next generation!

    Hey,
I did Analytical Science from 2000-2004 and I'm in trinity now doing Pharmacy. DCU science courses all has a common first year so everyone is in one class if you like. The classes were easy enough but you still have to do a bit of work!! Dont moan about the christmas exams cause in the long run it gives you a better chance of passing! The third year work placement will more than likely set you up for the job when your finished and if, like me, you decide to do more college in future years DCU courses are looked upon highly! I was very lucky. I fell into DCU after not knowing what I wanted after the LC and ended up on the pigs back!
Enjoy DCU, it was the best four years I had!

edit: Go to all of your Introductory Chemistry Tutorials, otherwise you'll be regretting it alot later on!

2nd year ESH here(hopefully 3rd year by this time tomorrow!), I do not like Odilla one bit, she seems like a nice person and all, but what she puts up on her exam papers is crazy and i hate her for it!

Hey, I'm ESH and I use boards all the time...

That said, I just failed all my repeats. I say this because all the lecturers were INCREDIBLY supportive, especially Brian Kelleher. Freakin fantastic guy...

3 hour a week for 1st semester now... LAME

Anyway. ESH3, see ya'll around, enjoy that field trip. I intend to steal all your notes this year, get a jump on 3rd year. ESH2, I'll see you guys in class!

And all first years, a word of advice. STUDY YOUR FREAKIN ASSES OFF!!! These are the best years of your life, but ya don't want 8 of em...

    That is all.
