    ..from a can.

The aluminium in the can will eventualy give me alzheimers and i will then be able to have sex with my fiance every night thinking ive shagged a different woman 7 days a week.

    win

If I had to choose, I'd go for a can. Coke is rotten though.

A glass bottle or a can, doesn't taste great from plastic.

I meant that I don't give a **** whether its in a can or a bottle. Apologies for any misunderstanding.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,217 ✭✭✭pookie82

Coke they pour you out of those machines in a take-away, like McDonald's or Burger Kind or even O'Brien's. Nicer than can or bottle coke IMO

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,082 ✭✭✭Pygmalion

I prefer can, but there isn't enough in one so I usually get a bottle.
    Works out cheaper /ml anyway.

In a glass with some ice is nice too, and 2l bottles are dirt cheap in Tesco and the likes.

    Can Can

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,992 ✭✭✭✭partyatmygaff

Can wins hands down, bottles end up tasting terrible and lukewarm.

But the two best are tied at Glass bottles(In some countries like alot of the middle east these are sold on the street aswell as some of the USA, basically you pay and drink at the stand and return the bottle which means it ends up much cheaper when converted to euro it ends up at only 18c for 350ml of ice cold coke or fanta or whatever so its cheap and tastes MUCH better). Unfortunately for us over here though glass bottles are only sold in rip off hotels and bars and cost alot more than most even though they cost less than cans and bottles.

Fountain drinks(Machine drinks wtf???) are pretty much the best if the bottles are still fresh and its not nearly empty but it can be absolute crap too if its nearly empty.

Then comes Cans, Then 500ml bottles and at the end is a 2L bottle which is horrible.

I like my coke with a single plum in the middle served in a man's hat.

Don't understand the love for the coke from a spray (machine coke?) like in pubs and subway. I think it tastes like water - except disgusting.

Can. All soft drinks are much nicer from a can.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,688 ✭✭✭✭mickdw

    My choice is as follows,

    Pub glass bottle, its delicious
2L bottle drank from a glass. Not fridge cold.
    Can straight from the can.
500 ml bottle .... never, its disgusting.

Now my preference for the 2L bottle over can might seem strange but having consumed 2L + of coca cola daily up to the age of about 25 for many years, it just wasnt economical to be buying it in cans. I guess I got used to the large bottle.
I no longer drink coke at all. I figured it couldnt be good. Interestingly, Im 30 and have no fillings in my teeth or tooth ache etc. People are very surprised at this having drunk so much coke

Pepsi max, from a can from the fridge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 124 ✭✭OldPeculier

Its can of coke all the way for me!

Bottle second and I'd rather not have the machine stuff at all thanks!:D

In the absence of a glass bottle I voted for the can.

Kinda off topic but does anyone notice how Fanta always tastes better from the cinema?

i can explain this... i used to work in one

all drinks are out back but are actually syrup in kegs ... kegs like beer kegs but kinda smaller.

the syrup goes through pipes and what ever to the dispenser while being carbonated with gas along the way :)

this happens everywhere like cinema's, mc Donald's etc. :D

I would have voted for glass bottle if the option was there..
    Second choice is can:D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,073 ✭✭✭sam34

in a can, straight from the fridge.

those plastic bottles dont seem to kepe it as cold or fizzy as a can.

and i hate the galss bottles you get in pubs, because a)they never pour it carefully so all the fizz comes to the top and you're left with flat coke and b)200ml isnt enough

oh, and i hate real coke, has to be diet coke. not for dietary reasons, just dont like the taste of the full fat stuff

Doesn't say it is plastic though, just "bottle".

This topic has come up loads of times, glass always wins. I always remember litre glass bottle in spain, icy cold. The 200ml ones are barely a gulp full.

I've never come across a glass bottle of coke in a pub that's actually cold tbh. They always seem to be room temp, which is the worst kind of temp for coke.

It's a conspiracy (seriously) to gte you to go to these places more because the stuff is nicer.

I agree with pub glass bottles or machine/fountain/concentrate as joint first choice , I prefer coke after that from a can but always go for bottles cos you can close them. I'll get a can only if I'm taking it home.

Different dates, lot numbers and most noticably different countries' coke all tastes different with the best being homebrewed with a 6-month date.

Have a can cooling in the fridge as we speak (or type...). Obviously, glass bottles win above everything. Got them in a newsagent in London a few weeks ago. Nom.

No wonder it always tastes like watered down shyte.
    Is that you?
    * gag * :(

Always get cans to have at home as the bottles go flat after a while.. If out generally a 50cl bottle as it can be closed, whereas cans you need to drink them there and then, Thats my reasoning anyways :pac: :o

    Machine coke?

    Postmix sodas are fairly terrible.

I prefer a can or glass bottle over a plastic bottle. So much better.
