Well if it is a normal zip with the hole in the middle of it hook a wire hanger hook into it before you put it on then when you have it on use the hanger to pull it up

    :)

i devised this when livin with a load of girls and i was sick of being the designated zipper........zipper :p

I've always been able to do it up myself, perhaps I'm oddly flexible :p. I second the wire hanger idea, I think that would work nicely.

this is a big problem with wetsuits.. they come with a little cord on the zip that you can tuck away when you're zipped up..
you could do the same but use a little thread that will be hidden

If it's strapless you could turn it around so the back is at the front and do it up that way, only works if your boobs are small though :( I would say hanger is your best bet provided the material won't snag, that's what I'd be worried about...
I don't mean to sound patronising but have you done the whole pull half way up with your hand behind your back and then the other half with your hand over your shoulder?

I was wondering that too. If I ever can't get something all the way up normally thats what I do.

If the dress has a hook and eye at the top of the zip do that first the zip should go up a little further and you may be able to reach it then or if it's a little loose pull the dress up a bit, as if you were going to pull it over your head and you should be able to get the rest.

I've never had an issue with this myself actually but I agree on the hanger business.

I usually just shift it up my body and do it then pull it back down. Won't work if it's very close fitting though.
