Hey I started deadlifting over a month and a half ago and in the last 3 weeks or so (as i've increased the weigtht) the bar is cuttin my leg about 4inches below my left knee just, it bleeds and everyting.

I'm just wondering is there anything i can do to prevent this? Does this suggest that my form is incorrect?

    Much appreciated!

No you're about right. It'll fix itself as you refine your technique but in the meantime try long football socks.

The very same happens to me when im deadlifting,on the upward pull the bar shreds my shins.I've tried the soccer socks approach and so far I haven't noticed a difference.I'd love to hear how people deal with it

I've just started deadlifting recently too, haven't had this problem yet but could see it happening eventually.

Just thinking, surely a good pair of soccer shin-pads would do the trick? :pac:

Happens me but I just get on with it. I'm only pulling usually 120KG sets of 5.

yeah, used football socks as roper said.
or try looking for a pair of deadlifting socks from efts.com

i dont have that problem with the shins
its higher up the leg (vmo region and upper quad) where i get scraped and bruised but that comes with the territory

make sure when you start the deadlift that the bar is already touching your shins and pull from there, you should avoid scraping your shins
