    Hi Everyone,

New to boards.ie so forgive me if this is in the wrong section. I'm hoping someone can offer some advice.

I recently ended a long term relationship and moved home. When I say recently, it's been over a year now.

The problem is that my ex seems to be following me around. Initially, there were calls and texts and he would knock on the door. Things quieted down for a while but now he's back. He waits on my road, watching the house but when he sees me he runs away. He's also doing this to my friends and I'm sure the neighbours think it's odd as well. I thought it was harmless at first but I'm starting to worry about it now.

Just want to move on with my life without him but he's preventing me from doing that by constantly being in my face. I had been ignoring him but he's spending more time near my friends and I think it's beginning to worry them.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of him? I'm sure it's some form of intimidation or harrassment. Does anyone know where I can find relevant legislation on this type of thing or is there any group that specifically deals with this? I'm dubious about getting the police involved as I don't think it will deter him (in fact, I think it may encourage him to continue or escalate).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You have to get the cops on this. He won't stop. For the sake of your own sanity do this.
