right lads and ladys im 20 yo and 5ft 6'', 8st..

im looking for advice on building up muscle, im not naturaly muslcley and was thinking of going on protein and was wondering whats the best to build up musle fast? i know you have to work out aswell.. i've heard few horror storys about using protein.. once you start on it if you stop working out does it turn to fat?

if you want to stop using it how long do u need to keep workin out to make sure it doesnt turn into fat?

    cheers in advance

1: building muscle takes time, it doesnt happen overnight
2: Whey protein has no side effects, its nearly the exact same as cheese.
    3: read the stickies.
Have you access to a gym?

the weights program you follow will be far more important than protein supps - you could build muscle by eatting pure crap and not a huge ammount of protein if you had the right program and were lifting heavy .. whats your current / planned workout?

Nope it isn't, obviously good diet = better results and less fat gained but a slight surplus of cals along with lifting heavy and often WILL work

You could try snacking between meals on nuts,
    almonds are my favourite.

1.Forget about protein Supps until you sort your diet & training out!

2.Protein is just a dietary supplement, you get it from loadsa different sources. You eat too much of anything (bar leafy greens, water disguised as food I tells ya!)& not train you'll get the same "horror story" results i.e get fat.Its just powdered food.

Starting strength & a good diet plan would be a good start!

Dietwise, have a read of this and work out your daily Calorific needs (also breaks down your protein, carb, fat etc. ratios) from the app on the bottom of the page. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/issa64.htm

    Also read the stickies
