I do love a good tidy lady garden. Once it's tidy, I'm happy, as I'm sure most blokes would be.

As for the razor burn....king of shaves do an excellent after shave balm. It's really really good stuff. I'm sure general shaving rules apply; Soften the hair beforehand with warm water. A shower or bath is best. Leave the soap / gel / whatever on for at least 60 seconds before starting to shave. Minimise the number of strokes of the razor. Make sure the razor is /sharp/. Anything but a sharp sharp razor will make sh*t of your skin.

Beyond that I wont offer any advice on lady garden tidying in thread, lest the source of my lady garden tidying knowledge beats me senseless.

i came in here thinking it was some young lad asking for advice on facial shaving:o

I cant post on behalf of "lady Gardens" however, i suffered for years from shaving and getting razor burn on my face.

3 things i have learned since I was a teenager are:

    1. Always use a sharp blade. Im sure a Mach 3 would work just as well down there?
    2. Always shave in the direction of the hair growth, it defo helps it also stops ingrowing hairs which cause nasty red lumps.. Hair grows in all directions in wimmens bits so you'll know yourself.:o
    3. Shave with aqueous cream, it doesnt contain any crazy products or anything like that and it keeps the skin supple.

Oh, ok, I'm with you. It's raw right now. Aloe if you can get it. Calamine lotion's probably good too. Cold water might help a bit. I'd say it'll take a few hours to go down (at least).

If it's still there in the morning a really, REALLY, thin application of hydrocortisone cream (from your chemist) should sort it quickly. Use that stuff _VERY_ sparingly though, especially around your fanny.

I find this from Boots stops any rash - use after shaving and again that night/next morning

Just don't forget to use it...:o

Oucchiiieees, what a sensitive area for shaving?! OP, maybe in future a gentle hair removal cream will suit you a bit better or even paying for a full wax with a professional because it sounds like you have very sensitive skin, you poor thing!

In the meantime to treat the discomfort maybe try this cream. Bepanthen is great for sore, broken skin. It's used to treat nappy rash but is also given after a tattoo to help heal it. Basically it helps your skin heal nice and quickly. You can get it in any chemist! :)

    Oh ouch :(

Been there, done that, not the nicest thing in the world. Cold water to soothe the irritation and then apply a cream, perhaps an unscented moisturiser or even some Sudocrem. Sudocrem fixes everything really.

In future, I'd say avoid shaving the area, never really works out well. Maybe try an epilator or hair removal cream for the bikini line.

You used the new razor that has 3-5 blades? (not sure how many) If you're going to keep with a razor I'd bin that and get a single or double blade , the more blades the more drag and irritation, these 5 blade things they ahve now are just retarded and are not better for shaving with, you have to press them hard against the skin to get it right. Otherwise an electric trimmer would be a good idea my beard trimmer has lots of attachments that can go from a trim to completely gone.

    Hey guys,
Quick question??? These epilator thingys.... dont they pluck the hairs out of your skin????
I tried to use an epilator on my legs and OH MY GOD the pain was awful. I couldn't imagine putting it anywhere near my bits.
What did I do wrong???

In general i used nivea after shave balm, Khannie is right the King of Shaves stuff is really good.

There's other stuff which I bought in Spain last year, I can't for the life of me remember what it's called but will try and look it up. Was kind of an oil based thing but fantastic.

Lads, no harm to you all, but after shave balm is the very last thing I would be putting anywhere near my lady bits. It would completely disrupt the natural balance down there and could result in an even nastier reaction.

OP, I think plain old Aloe Vera is your best bet.

You didn't do anything wrong. It's like waxing but much, much slower. Your skin will get used to it after you've used it a few times. :)

Also if I were you, I'd make sure you were desensitised to it on your legs before attempting any 'gardening'. I've had mine nearly a year and am only just progressing on to armpits with it. :(

Ok I tried the epilator again and I think it was worse than the first time.
It's like plucking your eyebrows but SO much worse.
It actually left my skin red raw - not sexy.

Isn't there some sort of cream that makes your skin numb or something???

Has any girl actually used this on their lady garden??
Please let me know how you did it.

You have to get a man to do it! They are much better at gardening and have plenty of experience at shaving :P

I just go for it. Sometimes I do it over two or three days, just a patch at a time, working inwards. It's not as thorough as a professional wax would be, but for normal grooming, it's grand.

I find it faaaaar less painful than waxing because my hair is fine and my skin is delicate, so when the wax gets on my bare skin it tears patches off and it bleeds.

    Epilate after a hot bath/shower
CUT the hair to 5mm or else you get a "tugging" sensation before the hair comes out.
Take a painkiller 1/2 and hour before if it's unbearable
    Pull skin tight
It might be easier if you have been waxed a few times before, because the hair comes out more easily.
