  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,900 ✭✭✭✭Riskymove

basically on the thurs and fri the early starters are not live but you get the whole evening

they should start with a round up of what went on in the morning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,007 ✭✭✭WithCheesePlease

    Ok, cool.

I just figured with Woods and Harrington teeing off at 2:35 (GMT) the coverage might be starting around then too. I was wrong!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

Yeah so Harrington will be finished his round by the time its on live....great coverage of the defending champion there by the Sky overlords!

I don't think it was sky's decision... it's more to do with the host broadcaster i'd imagine.

Just having a look on the sky sports website and it seems as though you can watch it live on there from the following times...

    Thurs: 2.30pm - 1am
    Fri: 3pm - 1am
    Sat: 4pm - 12pm
    Sun: 4pm - 12pm.

Perhaps because not everybody on this planet knows how to pronounce Irish names properly. It never ceases to amaze me how fabulously offended Irish people get at people getting pronounciations of their obscure spellings wrong.

Tiger has the right idea in just calling him Paddy.

Ditto for me - I have it streaming through the site (but using the windows media player plug-in as default) and having no problem.

If you guys ever read any of the Harrington autobiographies, you'll learn that he in fact calls himself Pawdrig as that is how his mother has pronounced it to him all his life!

What are ye talking about??! His name is Pádraig - the á makes the awww.

People seem to pronounce it differently depending on what part of the country they're in (or the world for that matter). I'd have said "Pawdrig" all my life. Just my input...

The a is not the problem, it's the D which is usually silent if pronouncing it with the Gaelige pronunciation but for Dubs and non Irish players is usually not silent.

Ahhhhhhhhh. I'd never leave it silent either, had no idea what ye were on about.

Jeez the Sky Sports commentary is almost unbearable! Although I think it's actually PGA.com's own feed.

"Ryo Ishikawa is just 17 years old. Although he has a birthday comin' up shortly...where he'll be 18"

"It's hard to score well when you can't drive well, you can't hit approach shots and you can't putt"

I think I might apply for a job there. Sounds like the intelligence requirements are just up my street! :)

Damn! Well at least ill be able to watch them on sky then, watcin on the comp aint that great

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,033 ✭✭✭who_ru

just listening to the american commentary there. one commentator was doing his 'ken on the course' impersonation. he hit a drive from one of the tee boxes, landed on the fairway. back in the commenatry box the same guy said:

"i think you should swing like you vote, and i like to hit mine to the right a bit".......

i mean c'mon - is a comment like that really necessary. i'm afraid golf commentators in general give the game a bad name.
