    Hi all,

I was in an accident a few years ago and unable to walk. Mix this with the meds I was on I put on a lot of weight.

I walk daily as I can not run to save my life lol. Plus my leg gives out after 5mins of hard running.

I have tried all kinds of diets and nothing has worked so far.
And most diets I tried I was always hungry which is not a good thing.
I have cut my food portions down and am eating 5 small meals a day with fruit if I get hungry.

Also right now I can not afford a gym membership and I really do not like going to the gym.

If anyone could give me some advise on the best way to loose the weight without spending loads on the tablets and stuff like that because I would not trust them I would be very greatful.

    Many Thanks,

    Alison

Sorry to hear about your accident, that sounds nasty but good your on the mend. I'm trying to keep a food diary at the moment where you write down everything you eat. You include butter/mayo any oils, milk for coffee- basically everything. Can be very surprising! Weight watchers is good, did it years ago - I probably should go back!
How long do you go walking for? Should be at leaast 30 mins for any real benefit I think. Swimming would prob be good too if you're able..

    Hi Thanks,

I do a 40min walk with my dog at least every second day. I try as often as I can but sometimes I can only do abt 20mins because my leg starts to cramp up to much i damaged the tendons and ligiments in my ankel leg and knee along with lower back damage.
I do swim at least once every two weeks im a fully quilified deep water life guard. I love to swim.

But right now the money is not there to go as often as I would like I used to swim every day for about 2 hours because I really hate walking anywhere.

That sounds like you're doing your best. U prob have an mp3 player / ipod. I don't mind walkin too much once I've mine. U can pick a cheap one up handy enuf if u don't.. I'd love to be able to swim well, doggie paddler me.I don't go much either coz of economics. ~Try the food diary thing. Its def made me think more about what I'm eating. I'm still not great but improving..
