manor/river.w are more than 10-15 mins away fastest i got from r.w to main camp was around 20 mins, so its like 10 mins if you sprint

    my input on riverwalk

    - the internet is really crap in riverwalk (no limewire/torrents, and usually doesnt even work)

    - walls are too thin in riverwalk, so if you bring someone in at night and are doing the deed, "walls have ears" applies very much so more than anything, and people can hear you talk on the phone etc etc.

    - sometimes you wont be able to sleep at night cuz of the noise (esp if your staying in on a wed)

    - hot water usually runs out of more than 1 or 2 of you need a shower (in 3 bed ensuit)

    - security guys are sound out, if you dont start trouble/give them cheek

    - you might get complete gob****es as your flat mates (mine were VERY reserved people, never partied)

and i'd like to know a bit more about college street, and any studio appartments/ one beds close to either the clubs/pubs or the college, and also railway square (in R.S do you get ensuit rooms?)

The 2C Route travels from the Quay -> Ballybricken -> Paddy Browns Road (several stops along this route including near Lismore Park and the rear of the college) -> WIT Main Campus -> College St. -> Quay.
    Is that not the 3C?:p

I'd doubt it, my landlord was having real trouble filling the space in our house this year as barely anyone was applying. Is the overall influx of new students going to be smaller this year.

Should be larger, WIT received more applications.

Interested in a 2 bedroom house to rent, just me and a mate looking to move in, don't really want to share with anyone else other than said mate and would be able to find a 3rd mate to move in if neccessary.

Preferably close to the Cork Road campus and a maximum of €70 a week but would be looking for all bills included in that. Broadband would be a massive attraction too.

I assume its on their website and at reception. Its the accommodation office who gave me that list (they have it printed in their place) but nobody posts here officially from WIT/WITSU here so I put it up.

Its probably not something WITSU would be responsible for anyway.. Its the Accommodation Office job.

There all around the €1.60 mark but it tends to increase every year.
can we get a return ticket into town from wit? how much is it? seems silly to be asking this since im in 3rd year now lol, but seems sillier asking the bus driver lmao, and if ur going into town from wit, does the bus actually run from the actual main bus stop or is it some other place?

    ciao

They don't do return tickets normally, but if you use the bus a lot they do passes which are big savings if you use it daily. It covers every bus in Waterford and Tramore for a monthly rate.

The bus stops in various locations until it stops on the Quay for a while. It then goes up and around eventually arriving back in WIT.

nah wont be using it alot, but like the odd time i kinda need to collect someone from the bus stop and bring em back so it will be like 2 return trips, i guess i'll have to pay 1.60 x 4 pfff rip off i tell ya:P lmao, is the "quay" the actual bus stop? or the whole area around the place? i mean the place where the buses for cork/dublin etc are as well :O? im confused lol

The quay has a bus stop at the Clock Tower mainly for the city routes (the Tramore one stops there, but also goes to the bus station further down the quay).

The major routes like Dublin and Cork all stop in the Bus station.

so im guessing the clock tower is a little further up the road from the actual bus stop (one near the flower shop w/e?) sorry if i sound like a moron lmao

The one near the Flower Shop is the bus terminus. The clock tower is before all that, and is situated where the local buses lineup (not just Bus Eireann). Its just as you go up into the city centre.

Okay if anyone could help or give advice that be great, myself and a friend are both looking for accomodation down in waterford for this year, both of us going into first year - never been to Waterford at all before. However apparently all of the campus accomodation is gone, would anyone be able to suggest a place for us to move into? Preferably just for the both of us or with 1 or 2 more people, we wouldn't particularly want to live with a big group. Thanks

Does anyone know if i can get around the security blocks with the broadband at riverwalk. I dont want to illegally download stuff, i just want to play games and use a voice chat program.

Could i talk to managment? Could i get a different broadband service off my own back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 618 ✭✭✭Pingi

O2 are doing mobile broadband for €10 a month for students, modems €20 once off and its a 12 month contract.
