To flatten your stomach, are ab workouts over rated and a waste of time? Are you better off spending your time doing fat burning exercises like squats

    Its not that simple.
Yes, to flatten your stomach specifically they are a waste of time.

In the broader scheme core exercise is really good for you if done properly.

Other question I will leave to the experts.

As D'Oracle said above, ab workouts do little to give you a flat stomach.

IMHO A flat stomach and the illusive 6 pack are mostly created in the kitchen. You need to have a really clean diet and almost single digit body fat % to have a flat defined stomach.

However Ab workouts will build and strenghten your abdominal muscle which will help greatly with your squatting, deadlifting etc, so they are definately not a waste of time

    Just my 2 cents worth

    Best Regards,

I have a six pack well actually a 4 pack, the bottom two are toughies was thinking of easing off the ab workout a bit and blending in some squats and lunges. There are a few things i could probably take out of my diet, fruit juices for example but i do love the stuff
