go to the euro shops, the prices there are great, especially on toiletries.

the new colgate max fresh with breath strips is €3.79 in my local centra but €2 in the euro shop.
shampoo, hair gel, deodourant and other stuff that normally costs a bomb in supermarkets is all only €2
you can get 5 chocolate bars for €2 as well, a lion bar is €1.09 in my local centra but 5 for €2 in the euro shop

    edit: 7up and pepsi 500ml are 3 for €2

excellent idea for a thread btw

Bixies! 5.2 cent a wheatastic biscuit. After a while Bixies for breakfast, lunch and dinner
makes sense. If you like to bet, snort coke and hookers.

Tuborg 6 for 8 brick, by far the nicest budget drink in the Off License.

Oh and decent pair off mens tennis runners in Pennys for 3 euro same style as ones you'd find in Topman for about 40 quid.

Yeah seen that! Their Lucozade isn't as good as the real stuff, tastes more like weak lemonade/orangade, can't go wrong with 2 for a Euro though.

I wouldn't trust their toiletries. Got toiletries before and there was just something off about them.

Tesco Value tin of boiled and skinned potatoes; 35c
Tesco Value tin of curry sauce; 35c

Fry potatoes + add curry sauce = sustenance

I'd say wait for the big sales to buy staple items like t-shirts, jeans etc. If you wait, you can save up to 50% on these things, and some people are lucky enough to find great bargains. I'm sorted for the coming winter, just bought my coat which is pure wool, reduced from €150 to €25. It was the last one left, but what a find! Also, going into Tesco at night means you can find all their reduced items from the day. Don't bother with them for fruit and vegetables, Lidl and Aldi are your places. High turnover of them everyday, plus dirt cheap. For example, mangoes are about €3.00 in Tesco, in Aldi they're 59c, exact same quality.

Grapes and corn for 59c... mmmm. And it changes to a different set of fruit every month

Out in the airport on Thursday. Chicken breast in a bun with salad - only 1.99 in Wright's (Ground floor of the short-term car park).

    Also...

Check out your local farmers market for cheap fruit & veg. I got 8 peppers for 2 euro in the new market up in Coolock Industrial Estate. Buy your meat and fish in bulk at a wholesale butchers and freeze it. (Put chicken fillets in bags of 1 or 2). Avoid anything labelled 'organic' as thats just an excuse to hike the prices up.

The restaurant in the new IKEA store in Ballymun are doing tea/coffee for only 1 euro. You can get three cups of tea/coffee and three muffins for 7 euro. A damn site cheaper than what you'd pay for same in an every-day cafe.

Just had a great meal with the missus today thanks to Dunnes.

4 Euro for a Pizza, Garlic Bread and a dessert: Choice of Fruit Cocktail or Strawberry Cheesecake.
Pizza is normally e3.29 and it's delicious.

It was a Lasagne instead of a pizza last week I think.

They're also doing 2 bars of Chocolate for 1 euro. Not sure which bars, go in and take a look.

Also go to Lidl/Aldi... can't remember which one for your good beers like Franziskaner. It's e2.70 in Supervalue for a bottle but only 2 euro in Lidl/Aldi.

Tesco are also selling Budvar for 2 euro, compared to about e2.65 elsewhere.

Still pretty expensive though when you look at the alternatives for frozen pizzas.

Was just on the Dunnes Stores website there and copied and pasted the following:

    ALL FOR €7

Green Isle Mushy Peas 750g / Green Isle Skinny Cut Oven Chips 900g / Donegal Catch Breaded Haddock 450g SAVE €2.77

    Bargain IMO

They give free refills, so it's as much coffee as you want for €1.

Gents haircur in Ringsend , a new place opened €10 , in Sandymount the equivalent is €14 and a place I went to in Rathmines was €16

If anyone can beat €10 in D2/D4 would like to hear it

    Outrageous.

I am amazed at what folks in D2 think is cheap.
    Clearly have money to squander.

Try Boots or Wrights in the airport and see what 4 euro buys. The same triple decker sandwich with fresh fruit pot and a bottle of Innocent brand smoothie. A bit better value than King crisps and water !

try Tesco Blanch for the same meal for <3 euro or if you prefer, a large fresh prawn layered salad for 2 euro.

Keep paying these stupid prices in D2 and you keep them high for all of us.
