broswing using wifi- if 3G is turned to on will speed increase?

    Hi,
    I found this tip from Tiphub

    My question: If I'm browsing the net through my wifi (to perlico) and I have 3G turned on will this increase the browsing speed? Or is the 3G just specifically for direct drowsing via a carrier?
    TIP

    This might sound strange but unless you need the speed of browsing the internet at 3G speeds instead of WiFi you can double your talk time from 5 hours to a whooping 10 hours!


    To disable your 3G do the following:

    Click on the Settings gear icon
    Click on General
    Click on Network
    Slide the Enable 3G to OFF

    Complete nonsense, tbh. :)

    I think what the person is trying to say is that if you switch off 3G you will save battery life, in a round about way.
