7 days usually (at least 6)

Have a routine daily from Mon - Sat and if i do train on Sunday it is very light. If it's a rest day i go about my day as normal just without the training i.e: going into town, with friends, cinema, bed etc.
I should also note that my routine is running/cycling/swimming and preparing for races not a specific weight routine where i WOULD have to take a rest day

edited to say that i doont go to the gym 6/7 days ... i train 6/7 days. i find the actual gym very boring. much prefer to go outside to train. go to the gym for swim/calinesthetics/spin etc.

yeah it is important to listen to your body and make sure you know the difference between Delayed onset muscle soreness(which you have) and actual injury.

If you feel like you could do something - do and if not - don't.

The gym is secondary to running to me. On rest/cross training days from running(mondays and fridays usually) I try to get to the gym...Wednesday is short run day so I try to get to the gym as well as running on Wednesdays. I usually try to get to the gym and run on weekends too. So gym is usually about 3 days a week.

6-10 times a week (I'm including my Thai boxing gym in that). I'll always take 1 rest day a week, 2 or even 3 if I haven't got a fight coming up.

That sounds like a freakishly large amount actually.

    I'm counting right now.

Ok, 7 or 8 times a week most weeks with one or two rest days.

7 days a week seems excessive!! I try 5 / 6 days a week for atleast 2 / 3 hours per day with the one day of rest. Anyone use any food supplements like creatine or whey protein?

bit of a sweeping generalisation there TBH ... 45 mins or an hour in the gym 7 days per week is less excessive than 2 - 3 hrs 6 days per week IMO !!

Well thats true. I seem to be going a bit excessive myself. I do like to alternate between between cardio and weights for the purpose of running! I'd think for myself then that 5 days would be better with 2 days of rest and recovery!

    Hi All

6 days a week for me. I don't do any training on Friday's.

Sat, Mon and Wed are Cardio days where I either Spin, Row or Crosstrain, sometimes I do two of the three.

Sun, Tues & Thurs is weight training. I have started Strong Lifts 5x5. Just finished second week :p

    Best Regards,

    M

Preseason when theres no rugby or gaelic training I go gym 3/4 times a week but during the season I stay at 3/4 but have rugby training 2 times a week and a match and then gaelic training once a week with a match. Its killer :P

6-8 times per week (2 weights, 4-6 cardio) for the past month

4 or 5 times going forwards (3 or 4 weights, plus 1 or 2 cardio).

I added a pole to the thread.

Lately only five times a week. Two jits, one Muay Thai and two weights/cardio.

Thats all going to change with the new timetable. I am hoping to have eight sessions a week for the next few months. (2 conditioning, 2 strength, 2 jits, 2 muay thai).

Haven't been to a gym in 8 months and it's driving me crazy. Usually train 4 times a week but I voted for 3 as that's how my life will be (possibly 4 but that will be a good week :) ) when I'm back with my other hobbies etc.

Very much looking forward to it. Knock this ass of mine back into super shape.
